zipper broke on first use

bought this for my 11 year old child for her school trip to Japan. As soon as we put some things in it and zipped it shut (not overloaded at all), one of the main zippers pulled away from the seam. To be clear, the functional part of this zipper did not break, but the fabric part of the zipper shredded and pulled away from the seam.
this was the day before she was to leave. Luckily I'm handy so I was able to pick open the seam, glue the frayed part of the zipper tape and sew it back in place. I sewed the heck out of the rest of the seams, crossed my fingers and drove her to the airport.
I realize these aren't fancy backpacks but they are fancy enough for quality zippers. No photos of the shredded zipper, I was too busy fixing it and freaking out about my 11 year old (AND her twin) leaving for Japan without me for 2 weeks.
Pros: nice design
Cons: poor quality fasteners

Broken zipper and a tear half way through the school year

My 3rd grader used this backpack last year for school. There is a rip in the top part and a defective zipper so it is unusable for this school year. He never carried anything beyond 2 notebooks, a pocket folder and his lunchbag. The bag was certainly not abused, it is simply poorly made. Extremely disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Back Pack

Bought this for my high school aged son who loves it. He loves the style, the quality and it is very roomy for all his needs for school. He also said it is comfortable. Highly recommend

This is my 2nd OGIO backpack. My 1st is 4 years old and still going strong. I use it for work. So when I decided to go back to school I knew which brand backpack I had to have. Love the design, the pockets for storage and the comfort of wearing it. I would buy OGIO over and over again verses any other competitor.
Pros: storage, long lasting

Ordered 10 of these backpacks for kids who will be traveling to Walt Disney World and other locations through the Make-a-Wish organization.
The backpacks will serve to help with travel items and then will continue to be great for school or other activities.

Wish it lasted longer

I LOVE this backpack. It's an awesomely huge size with so many pockets. I can fit seven folders, several books, a sweater, water bottle, supplies, snacks and more! Unfortunately, after less than two years two of the front zippers have broken. The rest of the backpack looks amazing though - no rips or tears and that's after lots of heavy book toting and use. I love the "Onslaught" color that I bought two years ago ... not excited about the current color offerings. Overall, I am happy with this backpack -- just wish the zippers hadn't broken :(

I have had one of these backpacks for 4 years and just now am I getting a new one. This backpack is seriously amazing. I know it's not waterproof but might as well be. never has any of my stuff ever got wet inside. Also its super comfortable to wear. Not to mention its 5,000,000 pockets!!! Trust me you'll love one.
