I just bought this yesterday and was a bit concerned because of the CNET review. CNET definitely didn't the TV and I had to find buried in the back of the review that Sharp brought them a new TV that was better but it didn't change their review. But for me so far it seems to have a bright and brilliant picture. I will watch it for a few weeks and give another update.
Pros: bright picture non glare screen

I've have a Samsung LCD and Mitsubishi DLP 1080P televiions. I recently purchased a Sharp LED LCD 46 inch television. I love my other two television but my Sharp is leaps and bounds a better television. Every type of media that I've watched on this television (DVD, Blu Ray, Standard Definiton Cable) looks superb on this set. The wifi is fast, crisp and clear. The sound quality is great as well. This set is in my bedroom. I seriously considered selling my other two sets and replacing them with Sharp LCD LED televisions. That's how much I am impressed and like this television.

I have owned this tv since June 2011 and I have to say it was a huge step up from a 5 year old Sharp Aquos 720p/1080i 45" tv. The picture looks great as DVD's look almost HD and HD looks like you are on set watching them film live! Great build quality and no popping sounds from the cabinet as the tv heats up or cools down!
Pros: picture, netflix, vudu apps, no popping sounds from cabinet
Cons: no hulu plus, no skype
I would recommend this to a friend!

SHARP has been in the lead with glass substrate LCD television panels. Add to that the use of LED backlighting and Quattron 4-color LCD and you have a truly fantastic image. Brightness, color purity, and dense blacks with automatic ambient light adjustment gives a picture that thrills the viewer. I plugged in my 46 inch model and attached the antenna cable. Patiently follow the on-screen "Initial Setup" menu. Wow what a picture. Sit back, shut up, and drink in that beautiful picture. Attaching other inputs is pretty simple, too. THe SHARP BD-35 BluRay is self-installing if you connect it on HDMI-1 with a HDMI cable. Put a DVD in the tray and close - boom-- the TV switches to BD -35 as input and starts playing. Fantastic ! Beyond this things get very complicated because of so many possible technical adjustments. The 82 page manual is clearly written and explains the why of many options. I am a retired electronics engineer and appreciate this depth of control but it can intimidate a non-nerd. The answer is the "reset to factory default settings" selection. YESSS !! A real parachute. The built-in speakers sound real good but hook up 5.1 surround and go for a thrill ride. DTS will tear your face off ! Love It !!
Pros: the non-glare glass screen is superior., it was very well packaged., regular dvd's display high resolution images.
Cons: none so far. but it is not a week old.

Just bought the 46" on Aug 19th. I can say that I review many other TV's in this size, Samsung, Sony, LG and Vizio. The Sharp TV is by far the best quality picture I've seen. The colors are very vivid. I like everything about this tv. Out of the box. I had the tv set up in about 10 minutes. Watching a blu ray is unbelievable. The picture looks like it's jumping out of the tv.
Pros: excellent picture quality., ease of set up., all of the apps., would recommend to a friend.
Cons: none at the moment.

I just purchased the 46 Sharp and It is easy to use and the picture quality is great, messing around the options like film view for those who do not like to watch "soap opera type of viewing" you can make it so you are not looking through cam corder of sorts. great color and bright picture. The gaming feature I love and was and added perk that I did not know this TV had but I am glad it does. I suggest buying this model. CNET is a joke and have no clue what they are talking about on this model the definetly got that review WRONG!!!!!
