Love the new set, but the glare is really bad from outside light and lighting at night.... Sales person never mentioned that......

Hi Smhdvh, We always appreciate customers who take the time to give us their feedback. I’ll pass what you've said onto proper department. Thank you for choosing Sony.
I have this TV for just little over a month now and it's July of 2015. This is my 1st smart TV. Great picture quality. Some time I have to use my home theater for volume but most of the time it's great. I have Sony Bravia 46" which I bought about 7 yrs ago, I moved that one to one of bedroom and I got this 55" for my living room.
Can't go wrong with Sony and Samsung's. 98% of electric products I use in my Office and home are these two. No Apple at all.
Drawback:
Sony does not have apps store like Apple, Google play and Samsung. They do have very limited apps and they are not even great. I still have to use my Chromecast or Samsung smart Blu Ray DVD player for most of my apps. I still use both devices like daily motions, Eros Now etc. with this TV you can use ShareAll, then you are going to keep using your phone or other device batteries & Data, you can not use for anything else while Sharing. I not talking about like Netflix or Youtube & Hulu.
This is me, as everyone has their own needs and if you don't need to use extra apps and technology. Then this is best TV.
Over all, I will still give 5 Stars for Performance, Price & Quality.
Bottom line my wife loves watching TV & she is very happy and I got to keep some greens in my pocket. Can't go wrong with that.
Sony what can you say ,I say awesome! Out standing customer service. Customer specialist Andrew help me make the choice to 4K with special incentives. What a professional and the TV is better than any I saw on the floor in the BOX stores. It was delivered on time and looks great on the wall. BUY SONY its worth the money.
When I saw the box, my response was "what did I just buy?" After taking a deep breath, I got the TV out of the box and the setup was easy and fast. The picture is perfect. I enjoy movies so, so, so, so much more. The colors are amazing, the details are fantastic and streaming from Hulu, Amazon and Netflix is seamless. I love, love, love it.
My old set was a Sony SXRD 50"- an antique by any standard! When the lamp blew, I new it was time to make a move up and get real. I didn't want the frills and gimmicks of 3D, rather just a reasonably priced 4K display. This set fit the bill precisely. I spent some time comparing it to other sets in the same category; there were only a very few. The picture quality is phenomenal, and especially shines on Blu-Ray material. The set easily integrates with our Sony Blu-Ray player via HDMI. Video set-up is straight-forward. Colors are just about perfect, and blacks are black-no fuzzy grey here. Sound quality is good (the old SXRD had two pillars of speakers and massive audio) for the size of the cabinet. The cabinet is is subliminal and works with just about any decor. The included stand is fine for our need and sits perfectly on the media cabinet. The included apps work well, although I have only used Netflix so far, but menu navigation is easy. Software updates are easy to schedule and have not crashed the set. For the investment, this set fits our needs.
I would recommend this to a friend!
