There is no support when the thermostat goes offline and no way to find any contact information to get help.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had one in my main residence so I bought one for my vacation home. Not easy to install with a home that uses a heat pump. Home was built in 2005 but the wiring and programming were not the same as the old themastate, and the programming had to change

We bought a house with the Wi-Fi Touchscreen thermostat but since it is still connected to the old owners Account we cannot add it to finish the setup. We've tried calling (on hold for over 52mins), chat was unavailable during times listed and nothing in manual or internet telling us how to disconnect from other owner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Temperature is 1.5-2.5 degrees off and varies depending on temp (the warmer to room, the more off the temp). I disconnected this thermostat and went back to my old one.

After installed by contractor, could not get AC system to run, only heater. After messing with it for an hour, pull it out to be sold in my next garage sale.

This unit is great EXCEPT the wireless. Connects, disconnects, etc. Which causes furnace to stop then start then stop. Worried it may burn up the blower motor. Disconnected WIFI and works fine. Company moved to Mexico and support is terrible.

Unit hasan engineering flaw. There is no deadband ( temperature diff) feature for this model which makes it unsuitable for cold climates. It causes the furnace or heating device to run constantly only turning off for seconds at a time.

Thermostat install instructions are both incomplete and confusing. We can satisfy stated every wiring requirement but are unable to get the thermostat to function properly. We have not been able to speak with a technician in a timely manner.
