I bought this washer around 5 years ago, and I've been having problems with it for a few years now but thought they were small problems. I bought Maytag because I thought it was one of the best brands, but I was pretty disappointing in the performance of it. Recently. it has been giving me error codes, and the fix is pricey. I don't think I would recommend this brand.

Stpped working. Motor control board error

I purchased this washer about three and a half years ago already had to repair it 3 times, now another error is showing about the motor control board. Way too expensive to replace. Now I have to buy a new one, but definitely will not buy Maytag again.

Error code and door locked

I have had this washer and dryer set for several years. Tonight I had a load that was done washing and a code was displaying "e02 f06". And the door locked is displayed. The door is locked. We can not get it to open. From what I have been reading from other reviewers it may be the control panel which is very expensive to fix. Of course it would happen the night before we are leaving on vacation. Beyond frustrated.

I am having the same issues as a lot of other reviewers. Getting the E01 F09 code. Replaced the pump. Worked for a couple of weeks then get the same code. I can hear the pump running and the drain isn't clogged. There isn't anything in the washer and it still won't run a cycle (not even the clean the washer cycle). I don't want to spend the money to replace anything else since it will be as much as buying a new one. I thought I could trust the Maytag brand but it turns out that I was wrong.

Very Disappointed - Seems Common Issues are Apparent

We have had this Washer since since 2012... Only 5 years old and now have huge repair bills. First error code was for the MCU. The tech ordered and replaced ($375), to find out that we now had an error code pointing to the CCU, so ordered and replaced ($200)... guess what now we are getting an error code indicating that the display controller is also bad.... so at $600 parts and labor we still have a very large paper weight. Not impressed Maytag. Going to attempt to return all of the electronics H/W and purchase a new machine.... Likely not going to be a Maytag. After reading other reviews, this seems like a common theme for many that have this Washer....

Bought thinking we would have for a long time

We bought our Maxima washer and matching dryer 5 years ago. We repair one issue on this washer and seem to have another one too soon after. We now feel the motor is no longer working. The money we spent to purchase and repair this machine has been more than we ever expected and now will have to buy another washer.

Don't expect to get more than 6 years out of this

My washer died today. It gave a F06 E02 code and the repairman was unable to come up with a good answer why it was doing this. I used this machine a lot, but took good care of it: wiped the rubber seal down after every wash, left the door open when not in use, ran the Afresh cleaning cycle once a month yet still had to occasionally pull back the rubber seal and wipe with a rag dipped in Clorox. The soap dispenser area was also prone to mold. I felt like my clothes were cleaner than with my former top-loading Maytag, but am disappointed that 6 years is all you can get with this machine. I bought a Maytag refrigerator and the ice maker broke within the first 3 mos. I can't buy any more Maytags.
