Awesome Upgrade

I had a Brother MFC-9450cdn for years prior to purchasing this one. I actually wore out the old printer. This one feeds beautifully, scans both sides at once, prints fast and has great quality and is an overall great purchase. It's a little large for a home-based business, but is certainly worth the money. By all means buy it!

Great printer

I wanted a home color laser printer and did a lot of research before buying this one. It was a little more money than what I had planned on spending for a home printer, but I have no regrets. It works great. Easy to use and great copies. The best all in one color laser for the money. So much better than a color ink jet...no color ink carts that dry out from little usage (most home printing is B&W). Color laser is more affordable to use then color ink jet.

We have had our printer for over two years now and have had not a single difficulty with it. It prints clear, professional documents, scans, copies and all that is claimed. I love it.

Brother mfc-9970 cdw

So far this printer has been AWESOME! It does everything you could expect from a printer costing thousands. I have owned it for a couple of months and have not had to replace any toner cartridges or consumables. I have not yet discovered all of the capabilities of this all in one, I have only used the basic print copy and scan (it is set up on my network wireless), but it does that flawlessly!!

This is an amazing printer/copier/fax machine and I highly recommend it to anyone considering a multi-function machine. The printer prints flawlessly and the color tones are excellent for both printing and copying.
The biggest drawback to this printer is the lack of AirPrint support for iPhones, iPads, etc. This should be an easy firmware upgrade for Brother since other models support this, but they seem to not be interested in adding AirPrint to this printer.

Fabulous Printer, Bad OCR software
on February 27, 2014

I've had my MFC-9970CDW for over a week now. I love the printer. Print quality is excellent. Setup was not too difficult and the on-screen programming screen is very logical and easy. Everything works great about it except for the Presto Pagemanager software for OS X. It isn't very good at all, to put it mildly. It would be a good organizer for documents, but for OCR, frankly it stinks. English page recognition is just so-so, and for Spanish, it's not even usable for the documents I've tried. For a printer this expensive, Brother really should consider including better software for OCR on Mac OS X, and there are good ones out there. I'll probably end up spending more for OCR software from somebody else since this is a feature important to me. If it hadn't been for this software which was bundled, I'd have given this printer 5 stars. It also doesn't support AirPrint, which it REALLY should, but using Brother's iPrint, it makes up for the problem mostly, except for the fact that it doesn't support Pages, Numbers and Keynote printing which are really basic on iOS and you have to use a workaround. Brother really should update the firmware to support AirPrint which is so basic these days. I've also seen some reviews complain about photo printing quality. At the highest resolution, I think it prints photos quite acceptably for a laser. If you don't print lots of color, with a laser you also don't have to worry about the cartridges drying out like they do with an inkjet. This Printer is replacing an old Brother B&W laser I've used for 10 years with no problems, and an HP multifunctional which seemed to get unsupported with Mavericks and was really the reason I looked for a replacement. Despite the two shortcomings I've found, I really love this printer, print quality and ease of use.

I absolutely adore our new Brother MFC-9970CDW All-in-one Machine. Once I got everything linked together (Computer, router, printer), every job has been so effortless. We have a land surveying company and it makes my job easier as manager/co-owner. When I called for assistance on anything, the representatives were so friendly and knowledgable. I am very satisfied.
