Great toaster but beyond too loud

The options it has for what you want it to do besides just toasting your bread are awesome and well thought out. I also really love how heavy and strong it is and feels, when I pick it up I don't hear all the metal spring loaded jenky trays like most toasters have inside of them jiggle up and down because these trays weren't built to pop up when the toast is done or when you hit the jenky spring loaded button to turn it off or on. It is built like all Kitchen Aid products, with quality materials that will last and don't sound like they will break into a million pieces every time you move it half an inch.
With that said, the beep it makes when it starts or ends toasting anything is horrific. It sounds like a semi truck backing up and at 6 in the morning, any sound at all hurts my ears until I'm fully up and awake which doesn't happen much later when it's time for lunch and I have been at work for 4+ hours-I'm not a morning person to say the least. Even if I was the type of person who loves mornings, this beep would still be obnoxious and completely uncalled for. Why does my toaster need to be loud enough so my neighbors can hear that my breakfast has been lowered into the toaster, and then again a minute later when it's all done and on its way back up? I need to find a way to disable this or the toaster is going back, never to return to this household again.
