Great Phone, Too Much Bloatware!

Definitely worth the upgrade from my Note II, I just wished AT&T didn't pile on so much bloatware and didn't lock the boatloader so that I can really take advantage of the processor!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, slimmer
Cons: carrier has too much control

Best Phone on the Market in my opinion.
I find myself reaching for the Galaxy Note 3 while my other devices collect dust!
This was a big move going from IOS to ANDROID, however the innovation Samsung has brought to the Galaxy Note is inspiring leaving me to consider why I didn't make the move sooner!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, technoligically advanced, best of the best
Cons: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love it, love it, love it

I just upgraded from the Galaxy S3, and I couldn't be happier. I loved the S3, but I wanted a little more screen real estate. This phone delivers on everything I'm looking for. The battery life is fantastic. I would have to charge my S3 in the middle of the day just to make it through, not the Note 3! I can go two days off a full charge with moderate use.
The camera on this phone is great. The pictures I've taken so far are better than my regular stand-alone camera.
I have only had the phone a little over a week, but I don't have a single complaint. I just received my S View cover in the mail yesterday and it really makes everything come together.
I could go on for days about how pleased I am with the phone. If you're on the fence, go for it. Well worth the price even though it is a bit high.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, camera quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my first Samsung device as a smart phone. I have had several types of smart phones, but the Note 3 has won me over. I don't know what I was thinking in the past. The Note 3 is the fastest phone that I have owned, from boot up to file transfer that is what stands out the most. The screen alone is a beautiful screen and movies look awesome. I am glad that I am now in the Samsung Galaxy family. Samsung great job!!!!!!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Nice phone, but Home button is horrid and there are more dropouts.

Overall, the phone is great, but the Home button is causing me and other people a lot of grief. There is no way to disable the home button (a large protruding physical button on the front of the phone) from waking the phone. Every time you put it in your pocket, the button gets pressed many times, making the bloink-bloink sound each time it activates. If the home button gets pressed and it stays pressed, the phone will keep the screen on.
Sometimes the phone gets by the wake screen and will actually get into your applications from your home screen. That is when the real problems begin. It can dial phone numbers, activate programs and literally drain your battery, minutes, or data plan. (not to mention, make your friends angry at you for pocket dialing them)
When the phone activates by inadvertently pressing the home button, the phone gets warm from the screen being on too long. You can tell if the screen is staying on by checking what is draining the battery with their utility.
Anyone that plans to put this phone in their pocket, bag, or purse needs to seriously reconsider this phone. Even some phone holsters are activating the wake screen when the phone is snapped or slide in the holster. Yes, even the flip covers activate the button. There is no way anyone would want to disable the lock screen, because it would render the phone useless by burning the battery down, making unwanted pocket calls, or causing you a fortune when it goes over on data limits.
There are a couple of other annoying things with the phone. It occasionally locks-up when I am in the camera app and then press the Gallery icon. This happened with my Galaxy S and I thought for sure that it would have been fixed. It isn't. The camera will also lock-up and stop taking pictures. I have also experienced one complete system lockup with the phone. It just went "dead." And I mean DEAD. It would not turn on or respond to any buttons. Pulling the battery freed it up. Because of this, I have turned off automatic updates for EVERYTHING. So far, so good.
The antenna for the phone and wireless connection are not as strong as my Galaxy S. The internet connection will drop and sometimes my phone goes in and out of a call, where my Galaxy S did not. When the phone is "in" it is very clear. Because the wireless internet connection kept going in and out, I had to disable the function to switch to my phone service if the wireless connection was lost, as it began to run my data plan down when I did not realize it. Oddly enough, the Note 3 will connect with 4g in a remote area, unlike some other phones other people have used in my area.
Windows Media Player will not recognize the Note 3 for synchronizing music, even after I located and downloaded the drivers from Samsung. Obviously, it will not sync with iTunes either. This is a real problem. I can manually move songs over if I connect the USB cable, but that is incredibly time consuming. I can't believe such an expensive phone does not have this basic feature. I don't want to use the Samsung app for music. My music is already in iTunes and Windows Media Player libraries.
The built-in app for the calendar does not have a "nag" function so your reminder can ring until you acknowledge the reminder. This is a basic use of the phone that is lacking. I had to download an app to correct this problem. Come on, many of us put our phones down and walk away for a bit (and with this phone, you don't want it in your pocket because of the home button!) The reminder on the Note 3 will ring once. That's it. if you miss it, you miss your appointment.
Now the good. The phone is the perfect size for me, the screen is very clear, and the pictures come out great. It also comes with some applications that are good to have.
I like the screen size because the software keyboard is actually usable now. I thought that I would need the pen, but I have not had to revert to using it to type. I do like the features of the pen, however, and will learn to use it for other things.
Pulling the pen out needs to be easier. The first phone the salesman tried to sell me broke his thumbnail and mine when we tried to remove the pen. He brought out another phone that was still difficult to remove the pen, but it didn't break our thumbnails. How hard can can eject mechanism be to engineer?
How about adding a delete forward key on the software keypad? Maybe there is an option for it, but I haven't found it.
Because the phone is wide, some apps are difficult to respond to when they active and you have to slide a response image over on the wake screen. They require too much sideways movement to respond to, as it is too wide for your thumb to reach when you hold it with one hand. There is a one-hand operation mode that I need to checkout. I just hope that it doesn't cram every app over to the right. I only need to have the wakeup screen to move to the right when responding.
Setting up Microsoft Exchange on the phone was a nightmare. If you have a problem, disable using client certificates. Certificates for Exchange servers do not work on this phone. The phone is also picky in what formats the certificates are in. It refuses to see the ones from my Galaxy S. They use a different format than earlier phones and you will need your network admin make you new ones. With that said, the Exchange link on the phone could not use them properly. A tutorial about how to setup Exchange would be welcomed. (setup for the server and the client phone)
Once the email integration is setup, the email functions well and you can combine in boxes from your various email accounts.
A nice option would be a setup screen for Exchange where you could put in the two different fully qualified names for your email address based on if you are connected wirelessly or through the phone carrier. They use different naming conventions and I cannot get my email when I am connected wirelessly in my office.
The phone comes with no manual. You have to download it from the Samsung website. Do not expect to understand how this phone works without it.
Do not purchase a screen protector for the Note 3. The manual says that it will cause the sensors to malfunction. Yet, every phone salesman will tell you to buy one. They must work on commission. My old Galaxy S did not use screen protectors and still has no scratches to-date. Samsung makes very hard screens on their high-end phones.
I suggest to get a case that has a flip-out stand. The phone can be very usable on a table this way. I bought one and I love it.
Overall, I like the phone mostly for the size. My eyesight is not like it was when I was younger. Because of this, it is easer to maneuver, use the keyboard, and view websites.
I just wish that they would tighten up the lock-ups, the antenna signal issue, and especially that darn home button!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, large display, pen
Cons: Did not meet expectations, home button problem, lockups, weak antennas for voice and wireless connection, pen hard to remove, integration with microsoft lacking

Samsung Note 3 wifi issues

Still no fix by updated software for the Note 3. Still get in and out of wifi issues. Gets real annoying. Speaking of annoying the worst part of this phone is the browser. It will talk back to you and tell you webpages are loading. It's the most frustrating thing to deal with. You can't turn it off. So you have to use a different browser. Expected bigger things than these issues.
