Had a S3 for year and a half. Was a great phone but service provider was,,,, well,,,, lacking. Changed provider and got the Note 3. Absolutely Awesome. Display is great. Excellent graphics. If i went to the moon it would probably still work. Samsung is the way to go. All my electronics are Samsung.
I was really excited to upgrade from my Note II to the Note 3. BUT...the trouble started the second I booted the phone. It froze and crashed multiple times on the initial setup and I had to remove the battery to get it to reset. This was while the system was updating. I gave the phone the benefit of the doubt but here are the multitude of problems:
Restarts randomly, even when idle
Gives notifications but doesn't tell you WHAT it is notifying you about (no icon in the notification bar)
Freezes
Won't silence-vibrates all night so I have to turn it off, meaning no alarm, no notice if emergency call, etc.
These are just the really bad things. Other annoyances are, no face-unlock, titles of notes cover up the note (in S-note).
Some improvements over the Note II include the back cover being a bit less slick and a few more features with the S-pen. BUT it is not any good if the phone doesn't work!
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, reboots, freezes, won't silence
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had to get 4 note 3s so far as each one through Verizon kept loosing calls or could not connect to a network.
4th phone, 2 sim cards and a few network tickets.
The next phone I get might just be an I phone and through another carrier.
I thought about getting this phone for a while then when I got it, there was a Crack on the side, I never even noticed until a couple weeks after having it. It gets really hot sometimes and sometimes when I'm on the phone it cuts out And the person I'm talking to can't hear me. This phone spontaneously turns itself off and on sometimes. When I'm texting someone the phone begins to get a lag to it on the texting part. When I'm on Facebook or any other app it freezes up and I'm unable to turn my phone off or even do anything for like a minute; one last thing is the service I'm with shipped it and was suppose to get it day after ship day never got it until 7 days later. I won't lie I love the phone but there are so many things wrong with it. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone, I'm sorry.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, i regret this phone
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This phone has horrible rf sensitivity. If a phone can't receive a signal all other high powered features are useless. I constantly find myself surrounded by people using their phones while mine is a paper weight. Others may have 2 or 3 solid bars while I have nothing. The Note 3 certainly isn't a phone you want to rely on in emergency situations. The best thing for the engineers to do to this phone is add another 10 db to the sensitivity. When I'm in an area of very strong signal the Note 3 is fine and functions as expected.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
