I received two of these vacuums as gifts for our new house. I love the fact that they are very versatile and light weight. It is some what of a pain to use as a handheld vacuum because of the cord and I have also noticed the suction isn't that great. I can't complain though because they were gifts and people usually get what they pay for also. I recommend this vacuum to anyone that needs a very light weight vacuum and doesn't have much floor to vacuum. This vacuum is one I alsoconsider great for stairs/steps.

I've had this vacuum for a couple years already, and the suction power of this little guy never ceases to amaze me. Only yesterday though, I find it impossible to separate the hand vacuum from the unit. Dirt Devil please help? All in all I love this unit and won't even replace it, just prob buy a separate hand held one if I continue to have this problem.

So, this is actually the second Simpli Stik I have purchased. While I really like the suction as well as how lightweight it is, it has a serious manufacturing defect. The first one I purchased right after Thanksgiving. It worked great and my floors were clean ad ever, however, after about a month or maybe a little longer, the lever that holds the trash receptacle broke right where it connects to the filter (as others have mentioned, I see). At first i thought it may have been my fault because i dropped it into the closet once and when i went back to use it, the lever was broken. I liked it so much that I ordered another one. This time I was very careful to not jolt it and to sit it down easily, but now three weeks after receiving it, the same lever broke in the same exact place. If it weren't for this defect, this would be a great cleaning tool, but i wont be ordering another one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought my Dirt Devil Simplistick vacuum over 5 years ago and it still works great today. It cleans up fast and is so convenient and lasting longer than my full size vacuum that broke down within 2 yrs. so pleased with it!

I bought this a day ago and accidentally stuck the handle together and cannot get it apart, having the vaccuum feels pointless now that I can only use it as a handheld and not a stick, super disapointed that I cant fix this mistake.
