I'm a Mac user, so it took a huge screen to get me to switch from my other phone. I love the size of this thing; I can see just about everything and I can easily hone in on small print. Great touch screen capabilities, though I found the screen protector was impeding my finger movements. The stylus has taken some getting used to; but I love the capture feature. The note thing, yeah, if you're an artist/ doodler I suppose it comes in handy. Good for quick jots. Voice talk or voice search are okay; still, it takes a few steps to get there so it's not entirely hands free. Making a call is best done on a headset; having this up to your ear is strange and you'll find you drop calls from having your jaw hit buttons. Bluetooth works like a champ, I love it, and the calls are clear. Unfortunately, this thing is a clunker when it comes to data transfer. I have tried five different fixes/ apps to get the photos off and the music on and every one is nonintuitive and...well, clunky. I also dislike some of the apps preloaded; I never use social hub and don't like it hogging up space. It did take a while to figure out the interface; if you're an android user you probably know how, for me, it was awkward and they changed the name of the app store so it got weird. I still have trouble rearranging icons, simple things like that gave it a slightly lower rating. I suppose I could have had some help in store but no one had anything but a non-working display, so I have had to learn on my own. Still, it's a great conversation starter; everyone asks "Is that a phone or a tablet?" To which I reply, it's a phone, that's also a tablet.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, large screen, fantastic camera, great video, thin
Cons: difficult to call without a hands-free device, awkward size
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I LOVE this phone! A few of the apps have been a little glitchy (stopping for no reason and returning me to my home screen), and every now and again I get some lag when launching an app, but hoping some of this behavior will be fixed with Ice Cream Sandwich--which I am getting ready to install. I don't have large hands, so I do struggle when I am trying to multitask while trying to text or email, as the device is just a tad too large (aeven though the size is a feature I love!). Overall, however, I love the graphics, love the features, and I have the dock for my car, so it's outstanding for hands-free and doubles great as an audio, turn by turn GPS. I gave my Xoom to my brother because this phone gives me pretty much the same functionality and, though the form factor is larger than your typical cell phone, it's easier to carry around than the Xoom. Looking forward to the new features that will be delivered with ICS!
Its a beautiful piece of art and science. The only criticism I have is its camera in that the pictures taken indoors have an orange tint. I would also liked to have experienced android ICS on it, which so far I couldn't, even though Samsung notified me that it is available. The problem is that I can't download Kies to my PC owing to error code 403 and/or 404. Awaiting solution from Samsung.
Love this item. Works the way that makes sense in procedures. Quick. I wish Kies was more like the itunes set up on the computer but that is the only thing I would change.
