First Samsung Android device

There are pluses and minuses to this phone. I'm not sure on many issues if it is samsung or android. Phone freezes up a lot and get the message "Sorry, (Whatever app) has stopped working" and it takes up to a minute or more to get that message. It is a large phone so if your looking for real estate to read on and do email it is great. If you want to have a compact phone in your pocket while your at the gym or walking about with headset on, it is quiet cumbersome. You'll have to figure out what you want more screen or connivance. I found i rarely use the pen, but it is nice on evernote for putting info in writing on notes. Call quality is good, bluetooth syncing works better on other devices I've owned.
Pros: Inexpensive, large display, open os
Cons: Did not meet expectations, crashes often, slow

What happened

Both my wife and I purchased the same phone. Some minor glitches but no major problems. Last month I bent over to pick up a pen and it dropped out of my shirt pocket. Cracked from one corner to the other. Last week my wife bumped hers off the arm of the couch and don't you know, hers shatters as well. Looking closely at them, the glass is raised so if it lands on the face, it is doomed. If you do purchase this phone, either get a warranty or a big touch case to put around it. Just do a search on cracked screens and the causes. Huge list for this phone. Also, I should note I have never cracked a screen before.
Pros: Bright display, easy to view, great conversation starter
Cons: Poor quality, poor design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still an Incredible Experience

I've owned the Galaxy Note for a while now and it is easily my favorite 'gadget'. Its screen is absolutely beautiful and the size is just about perfect (for me, and I can't really understand anyone who has an issue with it...). Its a conversation starter whenever I pull it out and I use it for so many different things that its almost ridiculous. I *love* this phone. Great battery life, great audio when talking on the phone, great everything!
To improve on future models ( I know, its too late for the Note II ) I would add another speaker. Currently it only has one and if you lay the phone down watch something flat on its back it becomes very muffled (as any phone with only one flat speaker on the back would). I'd like to see dual speakers at the bottom back for more of a 'stereo' effect and also a front facing speaker (or two) that could easily be muted by its own volume button. But really, this phone is fantastic. Looking forward to upgrading to the Note III when it comes out (the note II looks awesome but the small upgrades aren't really worth the price of outright buying it since I renewed my 2 year contract within the last 8 months for the first Note). Thanks Samsung for making such a great, fun, stylish, and versatile phone.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, incredibly versatile
Cons: could use one more speaker on the phone
I would recommend this to a friend!

I worked for AT&T when this phone was initially released and i hardly ever got calls on this device. I personally got to play on this device (educational purposes) As I was a Tech Support Specialist for AT&T. I loved this phone, although in my opinion it is just a bit too large.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Too big

<3 the Samsung Galaxy Note

I love this phone. I hear about it's size all of the time from people when they see it, but I am very satisfied with the dimensions of the Note. I don't find it cumbersome, and it fits into my pocket. I like that I can see the screen very well. The phone is fast, intuitive, and easy to use. It has hundreds of compatible apps, and I find it somewhat easier to get around than my iPad2.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Pleased with the Note

Although not as easy to carry in a front pocket, I did buy it for the screen size and ease of use. I love the clarity of the screen and it's readability. All functions work properly with connections speeds great and downloads completing in one shot. User interface is excellent, as are most Samsung products and it is pretty rugged too. Bought protective hard shell cover and dropped it from 3 feet within a week, right on its end, and suffered no damage whatsoever.
Have found that when playing games that the stylus doesn't always respond when tapping quickly, but I only play games infrequently and use it for the main uses primarily.
Was ready to pay for this unit but got it free, so an even better deal for me. I wouldn't give it up either. Would buy again.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, large screen size, many optional accessories
Cons: battery drain with high use/gaming
I would recommend this to a friend!

difficult to connect to transfer anything large!

we are not new to computers or cell phones. my husband is a programer for 25 years. finding drivers is impossible for the average person. this phablet would be perfect if it was easier to connect by bluetooth, wi-fi, uploading movies is impossible since they are so large. the phone has a superiour camera/video which is worth all that it cost just for that feature alone, but transfering these large files is near impossible. get better drivers and instructions on the SAMSUNG website to address this PLEASE!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: interface problems, drivers not available

Possibly the iPhone Killer

I have been an iPhone user since the 3GS. When this phone came to the market I was not intrested at all. After seeing my girlfriend use the device for a week. I was intrested. I used the device in the store for about 3 minutes. I immediatly purchase it at that point. What a device, does everything my iPhone does and more. As a small buisness owner this device is perfect for taking credit card payments. My clients always ask questions about the device. Samsung, Great Job!!!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: lack of rugged cases
