If you want a real boom box this is it

I bought this after learning of its bluetooth abilities and wanted to push my music and pod casts to it. I bought the XPLOD -previous version- about 4 years ago. That thing got the ** beat out of it - camping, fishing, back of the truck, overnight in the rain. etc. While dented everywhere it continued to play the best portable music I have ever heard. So I could not wait to get the new one. Its purty and sounds actually better then my old one. This one will not get beat up - I plan on taking much better care of it. This will challenge a lot of home stereos out there (not mine but you get the idea)

Great for outdoor, deck or patio functions with more than adequate volume capability--- at least when plugged in. Have not tried battery power but I would suspect volume isn't as loud. Audio quality is fine, but would recommend a different option for indoor functions. Sony delivered the unit quickly and it arrived undamaged. Bluetooth pairing is insanely simple and no connection issues were encountered.

Best Sony Boombox To Date

This iteration of Boombox is going to be replacing the Xplod for Sony. It keeps the same core design of a 5 3/4 inch sub being flanked by two woofers and tweeters. However the bass seems to be even better on this boombox then the previous Xplod model. It has a tighter frequencies response and really packs a wallop. It includes a CD player with MP3 support, but unfortunately not disc resume. So if you turn the player off it won't have any memory of where it was in the CD. Thankfully it has shuffle so I just use that option. The tape player has been taken out of this model, but as a consolation prize Sony has added bluetooth functionality. I have used it with Android phones and tablets, along with iPhones, and Windows 7 laptops. It works flawlessly with each. Though as a bit of a tip if you are having trouble connecting turn the boombox off and turn it back on and hit the bluetooth button while the device is trying to connect. It works every time.
The boombox also includes a remote for adjusting it from a distance which is always nice. It has AM and FM presets as well. They are much easier to preset then the Xplod boombox was. The Light Show feature is also nice as the red lights change according to the music that is being played. A very nice touch in for parties or a room with dim lighting. The boombox itself looks very futuristic and is gorgeous in person and feels well made overall. It does include a handle for portability. This Sony boombox is my 4th and the best to date. It has the features, performance, and design of the best quality in the market. Right when I think Sony has reached the pinnacle they always outdo themselves. I highly recommend this boombox!

I was very shocked about the sound quality. it sounds better than my car stereo. Looks amazing. Its a beast. Does everything i want plus more. There isnt anything you couldnt play on this thing. Its a tad pricey but for any music lover or even someone looking to upgrade their stereo at the factory workplace like i did. This is the one to buy. The only thing I'm worried about now is getting in trouble for jamming out to loud at work haha. Great job sony!

Sony has always been a company that offers products that beat their rivals from other companies,but this time they've out done themselves.I already have the cfd-g700cp boombox which is a fine high quality unit with great functionality and sound,but what they've have created with this new unit is remarkable.The appearance is stealthy and sleek with the lower profile until you power it up,then it's design and purpose really hits you.The illumination transforms this unit into something else,you have to see it in person to really understand,you just don't hear music you see it.The sound quality will leave no doubt that this is the best sounding portable boombox in the world,that's right the world.I have owned over 20 of the best boomboxes since the late eighties on up to now and this new Sony beats them all.The first thing you will notice is the speakers sit lower and father apart than on the g700cp and the tweeters are much bigger.The woofer is the same size but different material,it appears to be metallic ,not red like g700cp.The sound stage and separation of the music will transfix your ears and attention,the bass is much more controlled and accurate and no distortion at all!!Even issues like the function display have been addressed,the window is large and brightly illuminated.If your like me and really enjoy listening to music with high fidelity reproduction that few portables can actually achieve,this is the Sony you want,go hear it for yourself then you'll understand.

I am a 40 year old only child from a educated family! I've had everything ! Trust me when i tell u this boombox is better than my bookshelf system ! (which is a older model Sony also). the sound is crystal clear! the bass is adjustable! the light show mesmerize everyone that see's it. the ladies love it! Its portable u can take to the park or backyard pop a bottle and set the mood! Bluetooth 3.0 , NFC! This Sony is state of the art! I am stunned ! Get one ! U deserve the best! U will b very happy ! I am , and I am hard to please!

I was pleased with the size, looks, sound and overall quality of this boombox. Where it fell short for me is in having no auxiliary audio output capability whatsoever. I wanted to use headphones but there is no output jack for that and IN SPITE OF WHAT SONY TECH DEPARTMENT STATED THERE IS NO BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY FOR HEADPHONES with this system. I returned it and bought another brand to satisfy my headphone capability requirement.
