Great for Matte Screen Finish
on January 26, 2011
Posted by: Starchecker
It's ultra thin and light(even compared to standard LCD screens), very bright vibrant colors. I had an HP2338 that went bad, but I loved that one. This one has better colors than that model. The 2338 had a greenish tint(reducing the green made it purple or reddish), but this one is much better.
The only downside is I just don't like the matte finish, I am a big Glosssy screen fan, text just looks sharper. That being said this monitor is sharper than any other matte finish LCD or LED screen I have seen.
If you don't like the glossy look or the refection bothers you this is the screen to get.
If you like the glossy screen get the 2310e, It's an LED like this one but with the glossy finish. That's what I ended up with and I love it.

Amazing Monitors!

I typed "monitors" because I bought two of them. I used to have three, but they took too much space (almost 10 years old, even though only about 3" deep). These two 23" monitors are perfect! They're wide-screen, clear, use little power, there's no flicker, easy on the eyes (I work online, at least 12 hours/day), and are only about 1" deep. Even pushing them all the way to the back of the 6' x 3' desk, I can see them much better than the old monitors that were closer. I can keep the resolution and change the size of the fonts to make viewing much easier.
The only reason I bought 23" instead of 25" monitors was due to the length of the desk; I still needed to get the PC, speakers, lamp, back-up drive, and cable box on the desk. I gladly moved my telephone off the desk. :) Everything fits perfectly and gives me a lot more desk space for sprawling out. These monitors make working less stressful and tiresome on the eyes. There is no glare from the windows and lights behind me, even when the sun is shining at its peak. This is the best of all; I used to have to close the curtains and turn off a light to avoid glare, but not any more.
These are the best monitors I could get for my needs. It's a little hunt for the on/off button (not marked clearly), but turn on easily by running my finger below the bottom right edge,
The resolution is amazing. I can see details I hadn't seen before, which was a pleasant surprise. The wide-screen view gives me the option of having 4 windows open and running side-by-side, if I need to (since I couldn't fit three monitors). The only issue is that one monitor is about 1/4" lower than the other, which is strange, since they're exactly the same monitors. I wouldn't consider buying another one in hopes they both match in height. I'll figure something out; it's worth it.
If you work on a computer all day, these are the monitors to get. No eye strain, minimal footprint, no flickering, no glare... I can't think of anything better for my needs.

Great visuals. Was not sure whether to get a new monitor with the new PC, glad I did this monitor is great. The clarity and depth makes photos, videos and streaming fantastic. Well worth the investment.

The HP 2311x23” LED monitor is exceptionally crisp, clear and the ultra-slim design is unbelievable! The overall video viewing and gaming experience is so much more enjoyable with the luminosity and the radiance of the graphics. Love it!

HP quality monitor

Decided to get a monitor with my new laptop for a dual monitor setup. I am very glad I decided not to buy the 19" or the 21"... This monitor is very big, sleek, and has a vivid screen. The main thing I went to the 23" for was for the HDMI input, which neither of the smaller monitors had. If you want a quality monitor that's a great size, at a great price, this one is for you.

Large Screen with Compact Size

If you want a large screen, but with a monitor that does not take up much desk space, this is the one for you! It is cheaper made than I expected. When you power it off and on, it shakes. Also, it does not slide up and down--it only tilts. The height is perfect for me though. Do not use with an extension monitor cable, as the screen will shift to one side. It does not have speakers, but I prefer external speakers anyway. The view is absoutely splendid! This is a great buy!

Power Switch

Great monitor with poor instructions on how to turn it on. The picture points at the face of the mointor, where my previous HP Monitor's power switch was. The power switch is actually recessed UNDER the face of the monitor.
