Easily The Best Portable Stereo For Sale

The Klipsch KMC3 handily whoops competition in nearly every aspect of sound. From its accurate treble and highs that add clarity, detail, and precision to individual instruments to its pleasing, tonally neutral and accurate midrange - vocals, instrumental reproduction (from smooth jazz, to metal, to EDM, pop music, etc.) - and finally its low end prowess with unexpectedly powerful bass extension, heft, and unusually 'fast', responsive (not sloppy or exaggerated - I'm looking at you Bose and Beats) lower register tones, the Klipsch KMC3 is an all around triple threat to its competition. While I am a fan of all technologies and am incredibly open minded to trying different brands and technologies, after trying the most popular options for portable music units - including Bowers and Wilkin's Zeppelin, the Bose SoundDocks, Beats Beatbox, and Sonos Play3 and Play5 - I have yet to find a unit that can tick the three aforementioned areas of sound quality off of its kickin' qualities list. So far, only Klipsch has managed to knock that list out of the park and as far as I'm concerned, there is not a better portable sound dock for the money. Unlike many of its competitors, it does not need to be in the corner to provide excellent bass quality (actually, placed in the corner may provide too much bass depending on the song, which you could accordingly EQ out on your phone if need be) and the KMC3 also does not have an all too common voice veil, unlike some of its competitors (if you were to hear all of the units and then hear the difference with the KMC3, it may make more sense). The connectivity via Bluetooth is incredibly quick and painless as it should be and switching sources to the 3.5mm audio input (for connecting PCs, TVs, CD players, etc.) The white design in my opinion is slicker than the black KMC3. I also like the black paint edition, however, for taking the unit out in the sun, out to the beach, by the window, or wherever, you may also find that the white version is a looker, compared to the more common black version. I have a red Lumia 920 and black Surface RT, which I find complement the color of the beautiful KMC3 unit. Overall, the only minor quibbles that I might possibly have with the KMC3 (really, any product will have something) are that the APT-X Bluetooth codec is not supported by more than a few portable devices on the market thus far, which really isn't a complaint toward the unit itself but the technology behind it. While in general Bluetooth really does not sound bad with the KMC3, which would be a stretch by any imagination to say that it does, technophiles who are looking at a more solid installation of their devices with the KMC3 will likely find themselves connecting via the 3.5mm audio in, in which case the issue of Bluetooth would largely be a moot point for them. I have been enjoying Pandora radio (which maxes out at 128kbps bitrate anyway) over Bluetooth for the past four hours and frankly, I don't see how anyone could find much to criticize. The unit's full range drivers allow for seamless reproduction of midrange and highs, as previously mentioned, and the dedicated subwoofer driver hits the lows at any listening level with clarity and musicality. This brings me to my last couple of points. One is there is no EQ, which 99% of the time won't be necessary with this system, so it is hardly a knock on its peg. The next is loudness. The unit doesn't just get pretty loud, like its competition. It gets seriously loud. Loud enough to cause legitimate permanent hearing loss after extended periods of time at its' highest levels (which realistically most people won't be playing at unless they are purposely trying to attract complaints and/or police). Guys and gals, exercise common sense when using the unit at its higher limits of playback levels. It can get rocking and rolling at full volume, no doubt, but don't expose yourself to potentially damaging levels for too long. I love really loud music as much as the next person but I also really value listening to my favorite music AND my hearing. Basically, have fun but be careful. With that public announcement out of the way, I highly recommend the KMC3 to anyone looking to purchase a dock, portable music system, simple 2.1 computer speaker system, garage/workout sound system, or otherwise. I also really have to thank Klipsch Audio for providing me this unit from its KMC3 giveaway. I cannot say thanks enough for the enjoyment I am currently enjoying right now and that I will get out of the unit in the future from it. It is a perfect fit in my college dorm and makes up for the huge part of me that is missing currently (my homemade line array speakers back at home). I hope you enjoyed the review and that I was able to help with your opinion of this unit. But if you are even slightly skeptical, please do remain skeptical. Once you receive the unit, you will be all the more impressed with the results and may appreciate the unit even more than if you had assumed it would be everything you ever wanted in a portable sound system. Thanks again Klipsch! Klipsch Nation for life!

As an audiophile and pro engineer I own many Klipsch products from Klipschorns to G-17. This addition to my "stable" of Klipsch products will be used mostly for remote music reproduction through phones, iPads, MacAir devices at parties, outdoors at the pool, etc. The volume is superb for use in a dispersed sound environment, the quality is up to what I expect from Klipsch :-) and the nice carrying box a great bonus!
Pros: Attractive, Compact, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Audio

Clear mids; soul rattling bass

This is doubtlessly the best thing I own. Really. I've used it daily for two years without any problems whatsoever, save the screen sneaking away from the body slightly on account of the power of the bass. Can't blame the thing for being too good for its own good. Initially I was wary of needing to buy batteries, but when you're camping you don't have access to power outlets, so this actually turned out to be an advantage. The sound is incredible--crisp, clear mids and deep, heavy bass. I can carry it my hand, but I can also pack my duplex with twenty people and 3/4ths volume suffices to be full enough a sound to drown out any would be storytellers. I've owned several portable Bose products, and they simply can't match the power or quality of the sound that heaves out of this speaker. I don't have any complaints, but my neighbor, John, does indeed. But that's user error--not the Klipsch's fault.
Pros: Bass, Clarity, Fullness
Cons: Having Neighbors

This speaker is absolutely AMAZING. Decided to pick this system up a few weeks ago, and I am more than impressed. The KMC3 is beautiful from the audio it puts out, to it's sleek design and colorful buttons. Bass: The bass is incredible for the size of the box. The 5,25" sub pounds harder than my full scale stereo. People are always surprised when I show them, to how crisp and full the bass is for the size of the product. At medium volume the bass can be heard pounding throughout the whole house. Mid range and highs: They are exceptionally clear, every time I listen to this system I hear my music in a new way. The highs are all crisp and very accurate, the mids are also highly accurate and very full sounding. Bluetooth/aptx: Very well done, the Bluetooth streams as clear as using an AUX cable to play your music. No interruptions what so ever and the audio is very, very clear. This system can take anything you throw at it. I am especially impressed with how well it plays music by the band Tame Impala, the songs usually have every range, from multiple guitars at once, to high vocals, and deep pounding drums. The KMC3 handles it all without a problem. It sounds as if the system becomes the instruments itself. It plays the music in such a way that it sounds live, and like the band is in your room performing for you. This system is wonderful as well for bands such as: Disclosure, Washed Out. Any electronic bands. As well, it is exceptional in Acoustic music. Very Impressed, this system can basically reproduce anything. Usually use it in a fairly large room, and it fills it without a problem. Overall this is the best speaker I have purchased, and I have purchased many speakers in my time. As the title states the KMC3 is "Simply Incredble".
Pros: Aptx, Attractive, Bass, Beautiful finish, Clarity, Clear Bluetooth, Compact, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Audio, Good Power Output

KMC 3 A head above the rest!

I have used this product on the go and at home. No matter where I use it, the quality of the KMC 3 is unmatched. It out performs some of my larger systems by packing a punch for its small, portable size. You will not find another wireless speaker that sounds as pure as the KMC 3. I also liked the fact that it can be plugged into the wall or run off of batteries. And as for battery use, the battery life is really good. One can clearly tell that the KMC 3 was designed with care and perfection. Even the box that it came in is highly crafted and aesthetically pleasing. Overall, fantastic product from Klipsch!
Pros: Amazing Quality, Attractive, Compact, Crystal Clear Sound, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Good Audio, Perfect Size
