I understand why this model is no longer being manufactured, this is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. In fact it is so bad that I am looking at other brands to replace it, I can not trust GE after purchasing this piece of junk.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the 3rd dishwasher I have purchased in a month. One, the top shelf rolled out every time the door was opened. Two would not fit in the opening and three is the charm....my GE dishwasher! The others were too small inside. I could not put a spatula in the silver holder where I had always been able to put them. I was unable to put the grates from my cook top to wash. I can do all of that with this dishwasher. My only concern with this dishwasher, it is not as quiet as I expected. The other two were extremely quiet. I can live with the noise level and may not have even noticed it except for the quietness of the others.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The only problem was it didn't work when it was installed. A week later the repairman came and fixed it. It now works.

Very quiet, cleans very well

Can't believe how quiet this dishwasher is. Only noise is when water drains..just a trickling sound. Cleans very well...I've tried dried-on and baked-on dishes and they come clean just using the normal wash cycle. Only thing keeping me from giving a perfect score is that after 4 months the pump needed replacing as it was suddenly making a loud noise. But repairman was out right away and it was all under warranty.

best dishwasher i have ever had, with the depth of both drawers my tallest mugs & glasses fit my widest pots & pans fit and on the bottom, i even tested my deepest stainess steel soup pot and it fits!! and they are so clean, it is quiet and sings to me when the cycle is complete, I totally LOVE this dishwasher!!!!!

Great Look and Nice Features

I bought this a week ago and used it for the first time last night. It runs well and did a great job cleaning the dishes. It was a little bit loud - sound quality is 48. I was told that anything under 50 is good and any sound below 45 is even better. I can live with the sound. Overall, it fits in well with my other appliances. I had a really good dishwasher with a stainless steel tub and a plastic covered control panel that did not work anymore. This has a really nice control panel. No plastic, so I'm super happy!.

Replaced our older GE dishwasher with the new quieter model and so glad we did. The dishes are coming out clean and sparkling.
