This is a heck of a good shaver, and it's an elegant remarkable design.
My only hesitation is that the triangular rotary design isn't quite as effective for my face as a traditional foil. This has been my experience in general; I had a Norelco several years ago.
My most recent Panasonic wet/dry rechargeable was an excellent shaver, though its high speed motor was loud. This is not as loud, and it's as light as a feather.
This is a great shaver! The only thing it lacks is getting those pesky neck hairs, but I have never had a shaver that did that great with them anyway. I shave in the shower and it performs great. It recharges very fast and the charge lasts for more than a week. This is the best shaver I have ever owned!
In my 70+ years I've had many electric shavers, this shaver is without question the best of all I've owned. It is extremely quiet, cuts very close and cleans up easily.
Although the shaver head works good, the trimmer can't cut a wet noodle. Also the charging stand is cheaply made and if it breaks there is no way of charging the razor. The amount of time the shaver runs on the battery is not very good at all. I had a razor from a different company at the same price that could run two weeks on the battery, no problem. I don't see this happening with this razor. The price I paid was far to high for the features the razor has.
Pros: good comfortable shave
Cons: price, battery life, cheaply built recharging stand, can't recharge if stand breaks.
This shaver provides an outstanding shave. It is easy to wash and altogether a pleasure. It holds a charge much longer than my former Philips shaver; there is just one thing that really should be improved upon. The trimmer is barely adequate. After the excellent trimmers that were on my older Philips shavers, I was surprised that this part of the shaver worked so poorly. That said, if the main thing you're interested in is shaving, this shaver is the best yet from Philips.
Pros: very close smooth shave, quiet, charges fast, hold charge far longer than my previous shaver
I have been using this shaver for about a month now but the shave is just not close enough and if I rub too hard, then it hurts my skin and leaves a redness.
My son-in-law gave me his older Philips Norelco shaver a couple of years ago. It was fine, but left something to be desired, particularly with longer hairs under the chin. So when I decided to upgrade, I wanted a model with the RQ12 head. Wow! Fast, smooth, comfortable, and this model has all the display features that I need, which is to say, minimalist.
Travels well -- I've had it out for 9 days and it kept full power, although I should admit that I don't have the world's thickest beard.
My experience: great value and super performance in an electric shaver.
Pros: close shave everywhere, rq12 minimum bells & whistles
I love this shaver I had to take a step or two back when I seen on how awesome this shave was. I have th XL shaver by the same company that I have been using for some time now and it wasn't doing a good job so I was having to go back over my beard over and over again just to get a clean shave.
I told my wife that I needed another shaver so my search begin with which one will give me a close shave. I search on consumers reports first just to give me an ideal on where to start searching. I came across this one alone with others.
I'm a black man and have had problem with engrown hairs so I had that to deal with every since I join the military back in the early 70's so that play a big role into looking for a good shaver. So I brought it not knowing what to expect and low and behold this shaver was awesome. It got all of my engrown hairs and I was able to get a close shave. I don't have to keep going back over it again and again.
If you trying to find a good shaver and if you are a black man that have to deal with engrown hair this shaver is off the chart, you want regret it.
