I have been using this product for wet shaves and it is exvcellent, though it does take time. I would recommend it highly above any blade shaving system, though it doesn't give as close a shave. It does pretty well, though, given the fact that it considerably reduces burns and nicks produced by conventional blades.
Pros: close shave comfortable versatile
Cons: requires a lot of time to get a good wet shave.
My old shaver (8260XL) gives a much better shave. The new shaver requires a much longer time to complete a half decent shave, both dry &wet
Pros: none
Cons: lousy shave
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. Your first shaves may not give you the result you expect. It is recommended to take into account an adaptation period of 3 weeks. During this period, use your new electric shaver exclusively and do not alternate shaving methods; alternating shaving methods makes it more difficult to adapt to the new shaving system Move the shaving heads over the skin, making both straight and circular movements. Your skin may need 2-3 weeks to get accustomed to this Philips system. To prevent damage, put the protection cap on the shaver after use. Hope this helps.
Original is great Replace blade head is not so good.

I just received two RQ12 replace heads and they are not up to standard. I am very disappointed that the replacement heads are not the same as the original shaving head. I will not purchase any more replacement heads and will toss the razor as soon as the 2nd replacement head is worn.
I used Phillips shavers my whole life (I was born in Holland) and was never disappointed with their products. The only comment I have on this shaver although minor is that I would like the trimmer to be longer. It is hard to see when you are using it although it's maybe because I am left handed. (Ha, ha)
I've been using Norelco rotary razors for over 30 years. I'm probably on my 5th one or so. I've watched Norelco come up with new features and new styles as the years have gone by, This razor, the 1250x looks to be the last of the good ones, unless Norelco smartens up and fixes the newest ones. First, the 3D shave is wonderful, flexing every way possible works, close shave, very comfortable. And on THIS razor, the pop up trimmer is just OK, a few models ago, with the large swing up trimmer was the BEST, this smaller pop up trimmer is OK. BUT MUCH better than the NEWEST razors that don't have a built in trimmer, you have to pop off the whole shave head and pop on a separate trimmer, NO NO! I refuse to keep track of separate parts that will get lost, especially when I travel. Love the shape, easy to hold, battery lasts at least a week between charges. I'd buy THIS razor again (although you can't find them any more), but I will NOT buy any of the newest ones with the separate trimmer. PLEASE Philips/Norelco, FIX THAT in future models!
Pros: 3d shave is excellent, pop up trimmer works., shape/grip is excellent., battery life/charging is very good.
Cons: trimmer is kind of small, at least it has a built in trimmer
This razor was too expensive. It takes way too long to shave and I end up with what feels like a five o'clock shadow and my face is sore all day long from trying to get a close shave. It definitely is not THE ULTIMATE SHAVING EXPERIENCE you advertise.
