Once we adapted to a "Brother" device, we have really enjoyed our new All-In-One printer.

Worst purchase

This printer is not what I was expecting. Every time I try to print on a larger size paper, I get a paper jam notice - when there is no paper jam, but I have to remove and replace the drum before it will print for me.
Also, I cannot print envelopes because I would have to open the back of the printer and that disconnects it from my computer - therefore I cannot print envelopes which was one of my objectives when I bought the printer.

Helps our church historical committee record information and reduces time walking to a distant printer. We do a lot of scanning and copying too.

This all-in-one actually does much more than we need, but what we do use has produced excellent results. The wireless connection is good, copies are consistently excellent, we have never had a paper jam, it prints labels without any trouble. Initially we had to have the 7860 share a phone line with voice. It had no problems recognizing the difference between voice and fax. There is not quite as much versatility in copying for booklets as I would like, but we have figured out a way to do what we need.

Great printer and HP Killer

I dumped my HP and picked up the MFC-7860DW. Set up was a breeze. Quality is great. Being able to print in duplex make all the sense in the world. I'm saving trees. Hints to save toner, drop down the quality of the print, even the lowest setting is fine for letters. I find I don't need to have a color printer and when I do, I can just go down the street and pay a couple buck to print in bulk. Cheaper then ink. The scanner works great, black and white or in color. You can load and scan or copy multiple sheets of paper. If this printer got stolen, I would replace it with the same one. If my needs change and I decide I need to have a color printer, I will get the color version.

Major disappointment

I purchased the MFC-7860DW for my small legal practice, based on online reviews. When I got it to my office to set up, I found out that to print an envelope you have to open the back cover, pull down two levers, then open the front manual feed slot, slide the levers to the correct size, then feed one envelope at a time. Believe it or not, some of us still have to send out snail mail. I have had to hook up an old inkjet printer that allows me to load multiple envelopes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great printer

Have three of the Brother Printers-2 of them are wireless. One in my office and one at home. I use the one at the office for scanning from my laptop and it works great. The one at home is used by my kids since they have laptops and can print wirelessly from anywhere in the house. Great machine.
