Disappointed

This is one of the most inconvenient printers I have ever used. I do like to print my envelopes and it is most annoying and inconvenient to have to do it from the back of the machine. It is also extremely difficult to feed a single piece of paper into it. I found the scanning software clumsy also. It takes a long time to wake up from a sleep to print. It is very poorly designed. I will be taking this back and looking for something that will better suit my needs. I wanted to test out a piece of paper with a label layout and it would not print unless you used the manual feeder in the back which I still have not been able to do. This has been an extreme waste of my time. I do a lot of volunteer work and am familiar with a lot of programs and have used several different types of printers. This has been the worst.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replacement for 15 yo intellifax

Not a big reviewer, but Machine receives faxes, am using as a local printer and scanner. Scans well, scanning software fairly intuitive. Two complaints , one of which I should have known, I should have read the literature better. I read duplex and assumed scanning and printing, Does not duplex scan. The other biggie is the manual feed tray always shows paper jam on envelopes. When it does feed an envelop it wrinkles it.
As far as a recommendation I would depending on person's needs. I run a tax office so as fax it is great, as a scanner not so much, need duplexing.

Excellent Laser Printer

Have had this printer for 3 months. LOVE the duplex printing. Excellent quality printing. Software for scanning is easy to use. Easy setup for fax. We have 3 full-time college students all using this product and holds up to their constant demand for multiple page printing. Easy to change from double sided printing to single sided. I have owned 3 other older models of Brother MFC products and this product holds up to the others and their reputation. EXCELLENT QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE!!!!!!! A MUST HAVE. Could not live without the MFC functions!!!

Great Deal For the Money

The multifunction center is a great deal for the money. The controls are a bit cumbersome, to somebody who is learning it for the first time. This unit, replaced a fax machine, a copier and scanner. It has a fairly small footprint, which is very nice and saves a lot of desktop space. The only drawback for me, is the fact, that you can only feed one page at a time, in the manual document feed tray. I have only had up and running, for less than a month, so I am unable to attest to all the features that it has. The Wi-Fi is a very nice feature because my office is set up for Wi-Fi.

Works OK for investment

Print's great. Scans to PC in color even though we only print in BW. However, we consistently have to setup fax receive to the computer about once a week.

Great device except for . . .

The MFC-7860DW is a great product, except I have to re-install brxtwain_340-228b.dmg each time I turn my computer off if I want to use the scanner. I followed someone's suggestion that I put the file in my dock so that I don't have to download the file each time. Although that is annoying, I think it is a great product.

Problems, Problems, Problems

This printer has a very faulty wireless capability. Always needing to reset the connection. Support will band aid the problem, but the same (connection problems) keep returning. It also has a complicated menu system. I spent hours on the phone trying to get the connection problem solved once and for all. But to no avail. The only thing good thing about the printer is that it prints nice (when the connection is working).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
