CONSTANT paper jams. Tried several different papers/weights. Still jams again and again and again. We are averaging 10 jams per printed page. I am not new to brother printers. We have used them for over 10 years and this is the first I have been disappointed in. I usually tell others to buy Brother, but now I find myself holding my tongue. I may have just gotten a bad unit. We will see if Brother comes through for me.

Very BAD Choice MFC-7860DW

I'm absolutely disappointed in the build, quality, driver software, functionality after spending the kind of money that I paid for it.
Flimsy cheap plastic; drivers included for a country "PAB" - Now what country has such abbreviation in it's name, I haven't still been able to figure out.
The Fax, Scanner and Duplex printing functions are HORRIBLY complicated and non-intuitive.
All-in-all I should have gone with my first choice of competitor's laser printer.
Save your money folks!

Good Machine / WAY TOO NOISY

I have purchased many brother machines and use these machines at both my home office and my business office. I have been nothing but pleased with my brother machines. I have recommended brother too many of my clients and friends. However, this machine is so noisy and sounds like it would be a machine from the past, instead of a fine tuned, modern piece of machinery. It is almost embarrassing to run in my office when clients are here. Again, it does do all I wanted to do.

to print on both sides of the paper is just too many steps. Too bad you do not have American people when you call for help. The people you employ are hard to understand. I should have researched my printer purchase more carefully, and bought from an American manufacturer.

I bought the MFC-7860DW about six weeks ago and have generally been very happy with it. It was easy to set up and it prints surprisingly quickly. On the downside, the fan is a bit noisy, as noted in some of the reviews elsewhere. Also, I was disappointed that it could not scan directly into PDF format. I should note that I did not install the fax component as we have no land line. Overall, a fine product. I would buy it again.

Great....but

I have a smart phone and saw the app for Brother and decided to buy the 7860DW for wireless printing as I have other great products from Brother. The fact that the Brother is a Laser printer saves me money over the other brands of ink jet wireless printers. Sometimes I need to print out E-mails or other text documents and was disappointed when I tried to print them and learned that the software could only print PDF files. I understand that Brother is working on an update to correct this disadvantage.
Otherwise, this machine is wonderful in all other aspects.

Have not utilized all features to date, but feeder, scanning and printing have been up to expectation. I was able to readily setup the wireless capabilities to our Netgear wireless router.
I would recommend this to a friend!

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED

When our MFC8480 died after several years of very, very hard use we went to purchase another, were told they were discontinued and were told this was very comparable with the 8480. Brought it home and was "OK" with it the 1st few days. However, my biggest complaint is that the cartridge lasts 2 weeks MAX and that's the high yield cartridge. The 8480 high yield would last us for several months. While the 7460 is about 1/2 the price of the 8480 cartridge IT IS NOT WORTH MONEY. At this point, I am trying to break it so we can take it back since we got the extended warranty and I want my 8480 back!!!!!
