This MFC is a great buy, does everything advertised and works flawlessly with my MacBook Air. Had some issues installing driver for MacBook but with a phone call to Brother tech support, was up running, scanning in minutes. Highly recommend!

Adequate mid range multifunction machine

Output speed is good, Scan quality is below par compared to my other MF machine, even with higher resolution. Set up is easy, connecting to wireless easy to complete. Overall good for general printing, fax quality is adequate. Not a good solution for any high quality scanning or detailed printing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Purchasing my Laser All In One Brother printer made my small business very efficient in processing paperwork specially scanning. The scanning is very fast as well printing. I loved it so much, had to buy another one same model for home.

Lasers Are Better

Item arrived quickly, and was packaged securely. Out of box, there is the Printer, (1) Toner Cartridge, a Quick Start Guide (for easy setup), and a more in-depth owners manual, CD-ROM guide / registration, power cord, and phone cable (for fax machine). As this was my first experience with laser printers I was kind of overwhelmed at first, but the Quick Start Guide provides all the setup information you need (the larger manual and online version via CD-ROM are more of a troubleshoot option or if you're going above and beyond usual printing needs). After following directions to remove all the packing, and installing the toner cartridge I continued the process of setting up time, date functions, etc. Whole process was remarkably fast, and I had everything up and running in about 30min / 45min or so. Prints and copies wonderfully (duplex or two-sided copies is a great paper saving feature, but can be turned off if needed). Have had limited use of the Scan and Fax functions so I cannot fully attest to their reliability. Wireless printing is also relatively simple to set-up (and can be utilized on Chromebooks but ONLY if you have another computer device). You can also print from desktop devices, tablets, phones, and any other wireless enabled device connected to your WiFi network. For more info on the Chromebook / Google-cloud printing comment below and I'll try to assist in the set-up process as best as I can.

This All in One printer is not what I expected for the price I paid. From the beginning I have had trouble. I was told there was enough ink in the cartridge to print at least 600 pages. My machine only printed about 20 pages. I was told it had great speed for faxing, printing and copying. It is much slower than my old cannon machine. This machine also makes noise when using the functions. I went to staples to complain and they told me to call brother. I called and the person who helped me made me do a few different things with the printer. It still didn't help. Now I am getting error messages every time I need to fax. I am very disappointed in this product. Tried calling several times in the last couple of days during regular business hours. The recording gives the hours, and they the recording says they are closed and call the next business day.. I depend on my multi function brother all in one for my business... I had to connect my printer from about 10 yrs ago back in to get my work done...Thanks brother for nothing!
