WORST PRINTER EVER BOUGHT

THIS PRINTER WAS NOT WHAT IT WAS HYPED UP TO BE. WILL ONLY PRINT ONE ENVELOPE & IF YOU TRY TO PUT MORE THAN ONE ENVELOPE IN AT A TIME, IT WILL CAUSE A JAM. IT IS ALWAYS SHOWING A PRINTER JAM WHEN THERE IS NOT ONE, HAVE TO TURN THE PRINTER OFF & RE-START TO GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY. WILL NEVER PURCHASE A BROTHER PRODUCT AGAIN. I OWN A BUSINESS & IT TAKES ME TWICE AS LONG TO PRINT ENVELOPES FOR OVER 250 CLIENTS.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Printer

Love the printer. I use it with 3 wireless computers. I have the Brother app for my Apple IPad. The only problem I have is it does not support some programs I want to print on my iPad. I hope Brother will fix that problem.
I usually scan from my ipad because it is so easy and quick using my Apple iPad.
When I travel, I take the Brother printer with me so I am always ready if I have to print something in my job. I also may need to make copies or scan something. This machine is a work horse!
I would recommend this to a friend!

fax problems - Beware

Problem right out of the box receiving faxes. I spent hours with technical support and the local service center. Eventually discovered that this machine has not uncommon problems with some digital phone providers. The signal will drop in midfax causing a communication error. No solution!! Brother would not refund my purchase price. My old inkjet HP machines work fine. Go figure

I love this printer. I use my IPhone, IPad and laptop to print documents from throughout my home. Excellent product. Nice scanning capabilities also.

MFC again

I had another Brother MFC model for years and it was wonderful until age related issues started. Instead of repairing we bought this new MFC-7860DW. For some reason I am having constant issues. I am spending lots of time on Brother website looking for solutions and trying everything. Mostly it tells me I have transmission problems, printer offline, etc. I've plugged into other USB ports, bought new shorter printer cable, etc. My next step will be to reload the software when I have time. When working the item is GREAT but the stop and fix issues slow down my productivity since I print a lot for work purposes. I also had, or should I say still have, problems getting my laptop to work with it wirelessly. Scanner issues, too. The scanner software is a nuisance with constant emails & pop-ups trying to sell me upgrades. Paper speeds in so fast it takes too many pages and overlaps. If hand feeding it still has issues. Again more time wasted. Very frustrating. If my boss hadn't been so happy to pick & purchase this model, I would have returned it very soon after I got it.

Good but not Great!

This is our second model MFC-7860 and we have the same problem with the multi page feeder. We cannot trust it will separate the pages even in small quantities of 6 to 10 pages so we must stand over it and monitor that all the pages go through separately. Other than that it works well.

Another outstanding Brother printer!!

My overall rating my MFC7860DW is 4.5 out of 5. Not a 5 out 5 because it is loud. I am using this wireless with a Windows 8 laptop, a old XP desktop plus 2 Galaxy SIII smart phones. The software and updates have all installed and worked perfect. The print quality is Excellent no mater what the source. This printer likes the paper made for Laser printers (20lb) better than thin copy paper. Scan and faxes are fast and look great. Wish it had a built in stapler but as is, you wont find much better at this price. This is my third Brother printer in 10 years one I wore out, one I gave away now this one I hope will last for many years. The first 2 printed of thousands of pages with little complaint.

We have just recently purchased this product. It appears that it is going to be a good machine. The main thing I had to complain about is that the package DIDN'T have the USB cable with it. If we had not had an extra on hand, we would not have been able to connect the machine without going back to a store.
I would recommend this to a friend!
