Pops off in 1-2ft waves

If you look into the manual, there are three parts labeled 1,2 and 3. Part 2 and 3 adhere to the surfboard perfectly fine. Part 1 is the issue. It locks into place, but the pressure that small waves create are enough to trigger the disengage of part 1 off of part 2. Competitors' surf mounts (ie: gopro surf mount) provide a wedge that you slip into the back of part 1, keeping it pressed outwards, preventing the water from pinching it closed and disengaging it. It's such an easy fix but if part 1 pops off part 2 on every other wave in 1-2 ft waves, then I'm scared to imagine what would happen on any day where there are decently sized waves.
