We always have ice not matter how many people are at our house or if I need to fill an ice chest. I'm so happy we went ahead and installed it. It works great and has great tasting ice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a KitchenAid ice maker because I like the shape of the ice it produces, they're square flat pieces, like a scrabble tile. We purchased the panel ready model to install a cabinet panel on the front of it. The design on the door and hinge make it very hard/impossible to completely obscure it with a panel. The door has a slight outward curve to it, and the hinge requires the door to be proud of the cabinet base. When you add your own panel to the front, it must align with the door on the hinge side, leaving a gap between the ice maker and the cabinet. This model needs a different hinge design.

Let there be ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a huge ice fan, and take my ice seriously. I like this ice maker a lot more than I thought I would. We previously had the larger version in our last home and was concerned with going down in size. But it has not been an issue at all. We had no issue that I am aware of regarding the panel ready, as some other users have noted. However, we built a new home and specked everything in very specifically with our cabinet maker. It is actually built into an antiqued looking hutch with refrigerated draws on the side and looks awesome. Everyone who comes into my home loves it. My only gripes are that the scooper sometimes falls into the ice when you shut the door, and is not as easily to find as in the wider model. Additionally, the filter needs replacing (which I understand) but I can't find where to get the filter online easily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third KitchenAid !5 inch ice maker I have had in 12 years. The previous two lasted several years before having to be replaced, I have to use this ice maker as the cabinetry was built around the ice maker. This new unit has several improvements over the prior two.

Small cubes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product to replace a 16 yr old unit. It is one of the few on the market that makes 1/2 inch clear cubes, like my old one. So far (about a month) it has performed well.

Make ice fast and quiet

I gave this a four star because my machine was not functioning proper when I first started it up. A visit from the whirlpool repair guy fixed the issue right away. Missing a screw
Otherwise great machine glad I purchased it!
