It seems to be much better built than my last Whirlpool freezer. The lid is solid unlike the lid on my previous freezer and it is well insulated.It is extremely quiet. So quiet I have never heard it running.It is Energy Star rated which saves on operation. I would definitely recommend it to anyone purchasing a freezer.

Glad we have this freezer

We've had this chest freezer for several months. It has been a wonderful resource. I've frozen fresh peaches and blueberries this summer along with fresh peas from the local farmers' markets. I like the inside lights, the power on light, and the temperature controls. Large baskets are provided, and I added a few I had from my old freezer. My freezer is organized and accessiible

Well designed chest freezer

I've only had this freezer for one month but am happy I bought it. Has all the features I wanted like temp alarm, power light and solid core lid. My plan was to replace the 20 year old unit and keep it as a spare should the need arise. The plan is working! Holds temp very nicely (middle setting - 0 degrees) and is fairly quiet. Not as quiet as the one it replaced but quiet enough. You should know the 2 baskets obviously take up space. I plan to remove one if additional room but so far - plenty of space. Nice job Whirlpool!

Great Features

We bought this 9 months ago and it still works perfectly. We bought it because of the sturdy lid, temperature alarm, exterior "on" light, and interior light. It has drastically reduced our power bill from our previous freezer.

Great Freezer

We bought this freezer after moving into our new house to store most of our freezer items (since we have a side by side and it does not offer enough freezer space for everything we freeze). At our previous house we have a much smaller chest freezer that we on multiple occasions filled to the brim, along with the top freezer inside. This one is much larger and will provide an abundant amount of freezer space for us in the future. The included baskets are very helpful for keeping this expanse of space organized, as well.Freezer controls on the exterior are convenient - yet out of the way to where you won't accidentally change them. The interior light is extremely helpful when looking for something in the freezer, compared to hoping the room lighting is bright enough to do so. It's also very quiet. If not for the orange power light (which is helpful), you wouldn't really know it is running.Definitely highly recommended.
