I have had this dishwasher for months and it has worked perfectly! I only had to purchase an adaptor for the faucet and it was up and running. I love how the top rack has two heights and these things that clip on to keep small light cups from flipping around. The lower rack has the back two plate holder things that fold down, very convenient! The silverware holder has these things that clip to the top and i had no idea what they were until my daughters friend came over and told me. THEY SEPERATE EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM! That is so nifty. I have had new regular sized dishwashers that never had these amendities. It is heavy to push but that is ok because that just means stability. Lol too. It is a perfect fit between my stove and work station. That was not planned at all.
I have no room for s built in dishwasher. My avilable space is small. I was doutful a small dishwasher could do a good job of cleaning dishes. After reading some of the reviews I purchased the small Danby. I am glad I took the chance as this is the best dishwasher I have ever owned. It gets dishes clean the first time every time, it works better than full sized dishwashers I have owned. Only one small flaw, as I was warned by a previous review, I need to open the door after the dishwasher is finished or the dishes do not dry. I would recommend others to purchase.
Downsizing to a tiny space [520 sq ft] seemed challenging enough, but when I discovered no dishwasher [1st time in my life I didn't have a dishwasher] I really questioned my move. Then I discovered the 18 inch portable Danby.
1st it is counter height so it does double duty by extending the kitchen counter. Next the stainless steel interior is a breeze to keep clean. But above all, the smart design of the baskets is the real winner here. It holds service for 8. The bottom basket has fold down tine options that holds deep pots and the convenient upper has a smart large utensil tray that also holds shallow plastic containers.
Oh I almost forgot. The dishwasher salt and rinse dispenser ... ensures clean sparkly dishes. This 18 inch portable Danby is a smart buy!
Bought this dishwasher because I have no space for a builtin and can move it out of the way.. Wish it wasn't taller then my counters but it works great, takes longer then I expected to finish a load, but beats handwashing and cleans well.. (I still handwash pots and pans) I would recommend it to households with 2-3 people.. With 2 of us we only have to run it every other day.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We have a 4 year old built-in in a rental and a 3 year old portable in our home. We have had no problems with either one, and find they are very suitable for a 2 person household. They do run for a long time on the higher cycles, but we seldom use them, as dishes clean well even on the light load setting.
We have this in our RV and it works perfectly. With a vinyl cutting board on top, it added extra counter space. We live full time in the RV and this is a time saver. Works really well. Has a feature to add salt for softening the water which we love. It seems to get the dishes cleaner.
