I owned one for years, and gave it to a relative as we were moving and had no place for it. Regretted it so much, that purchased a brand new one as I could not live without it!!

The Greatest Invention Ever!

This thing works great. I've made waffles, pancakes, French toast, bacon, eggs, sausage, grilled sandwiches and veggies on it. I have a big family, so it would be nice if they came up with a double wide one. So instead of 4 waffles at a time, it could make 8 at a time! Then you could flip the cooking surface over and then BOOM! Double the cooking space! It cooks quick, clean up can't get any easier and it doesn't heat up the house. Oh, and no smoke!
Black and Decker, if you take my suggestion, I want a cut of the prize! ;P.

If you want the best waffle maker ever produced, Just like the old days? Then look no further. This one in particular makes good, even heat unlike the cheaper models out there. I'm over 60 now and remember what mom used with the chrome housing & bakalite handles like when I was a kid and this one mimics the past with its looks & durability. We've had our 1st Black & Decker for over 25-yrs when our daughter was young and are looking to by a 2nd just to keep up with the morning traffic now in our house with grandkids that come over so that everyone can eat at the same time. I also suggest that you use it for a waffle maker and nothing else as there are better options for greasy bacon and cooking eggs when it comes to keeping it clean. We also periodically take a piece of fine steel wool to the chrome housing for an easy cleaning, keeping it looking like new which is something that you can't do with the cheap plastic one's available today.
On another note waffle makers seem to get a bad rap because either no one knows how to use them properly or they don't know how to make a tasty batter to put in it, so here's a hint. Add some vanilla to the batter and get your family turned on to a good waffle!

I have had one of these for almost 40 years. We use it extensively and could not live without one. Our last one quit on me suddenly, so I was relieved to still be able to buy this one. I should have bought a couple to ensure I would have one for life !
