My experience has been wonderful. It heats fast and the filter drain is an aussum feature. Except for the heating element it all goes in the dishwasher. I can say from experience don't fill it past the max fill line and expect to be able to filter all the oil. The excess oil will overflow onto your counter. I don't suggest anyone fill the frying container past the max fill line. You do need to be careful pouring oil from the filtered oil reservoir back into the fry area. The lid can pop off the reservoir as your pouring the oil. Just use your hand to help hold the lid on as you pour the oil. It would be great if there was a snap closure on the lid to prevent the weight of the oil from pushing the lid open while pouring. I would also like a larger oil storage box so I could use more of the capacity in the fryer.

this fryer cooks similar to all deep fryers I have used. I love the cleaning filter. Saves so much ti,e and oil last longer. I have used this for about a year. We debated buying a second just in case not available when this one goes out.

Received fryer June 20th, used it to fry fish on June 22nd, unit worked well, although disappointed that it doesn't have a time, which the older model did. Did like that it has evolved over the membrane design, which was a disaster waiting to happen, but liked the temp selector. Ready to use for a second time on June 23rd, and nothing, unit would not turn on at all. Luckily the oil did drain so I did not have to manual do that. Very disappointing, but this happened before with T-Fal Emeril.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointing

The first 2 times I used this fryer, I thought it did a great job. Loved the cleaning feature to drain the oil. Third time I went to use it, it started smoking and turned off. I could see no reason for the smoking...no oil or anything out of place on the heating element. Tried multiple times, used reset button, simply wouldn't stay on for more than a few seconds. I would like a refund as it is still under warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased mine 12 years ago. It still works perfectly. I only fry 4 or 5 times a year but usually for events and often outside. I have since bought this for others as wedding and anniversary gifts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quit working after just 4 uses

The first four times I used it it worked great. The fifth time not so lucky, it won't turn on. I've reset it and it still doesn't work.

No more T-fal products

I purchased this fryer to fry food out side instead of in the house, I used it one time, then again two months later, the first time I drained the oil the system worked just fine, I took it apart as the cleaning instructions stated and stored my unit, this time however the oil will not drain or filter out of the fryer, for some reason the drain seems to be clogged, I will not purchase another T-fal product.

Not as great as it seems

Bought mine less that 4 months ago for the large capacity and of course the recycled oil. The oil container lid is very flimsy. Very easy to spill oil. After 5 uses it now will not drain. Very disappointed.
