Just what I needed - nothing more

Was looking for a microwave without the bells and whistles that wasn't too big - I had a convection and sensor microwave before and never used those features since they didn't work that well. This does just what I need it for - to heat up and cook. The auto defrost and reheat convenience features work really well - haven't
used the others yet. I have the grey version which I like the look of a lot - although have to agree with other reviewers that it does make the controls less easy to see, since they are already dim. I have read that the door seems flimsy but mine is very sturdy and shuts just fine. So far so good.

Very reliable so far. Nice looking. Controls are nice. I like the one-touch time setting - you just hit a number and the microwave starts and runs for that many minutes. Popcorn setting works perfectly. Defrost has choice of weight or time.

I needed a small footprint for a microwave as I was replacing my older GE Spacemaker with the new GE 1.7. As I mentioned my last microwave manufacturer was GE and I was familiar with their quality. This microwave has all the features and functionality I wanted and more. A great value!

Completely Dead

Unit completely died within 2 years of normal use. Worked fine until we woke up one morning and it was completely dead. Anything else in the outlet works and it no longer works in a different outlet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A decent basic microwave; it failed after 2 years. One of the safety devices, perhaps a thermal cutout, is intermittent, and it needs service.
Vent fan is NOT quiet, FYI. Also has hot spots when cooking.

Shoddy Handles

Handles a major component to the microwave is nothing more than tape over plastic. Handle now peeling, new handle cost prohibitive and no alternative to repair.
