Looks sharp, cooks great!

This little guy packs a punch! We really liked the look but it also functions like a champ. The interior rack and powered turn table work great. We replaced a larger older GE space saver, but we like this newer design better. The chrome GE logo at the top is a nice touch.

Door Handle Problems

This microwave has good aesthetics but the door handle started delaminating less than 12 months from when we purchased it. It is advertised as an "above range unit" but it certainly does not seem to live up to its billing. Just bought a new handle which isn't cheap!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just what it should be . . .

I replaced the same, but older model when it went on the fritz. The old one served us well, but was over ten years old, and cheaper to just get a new one. This is an updated version of the same model. Sleeker design, same keypad and functionality. We reheat leftovers, melt butter, pop popcorn, reheat coffee, ect. It is the old standby, nothing flashy, yet I don't really want a microwave to do anything more than what I use. The bells and whistles don't matter to me. This is great, we look forward to many more years of service.

Everything I expected.

We have owned a GE microwave prior to this purchase and were more satisfied with it than with any other brand we have had in the past. This was a driving force in our purchase of this product as we were very satisfied with the features of our old countertop microwave (5 years old and still working). With express settings, add 30 second button, and the reminder beep that you left something in it (a feature not listed in the specs) it had all of the features of our old unit and more. The controls are easy to see and arranged in a logical manner making our new micro simple to use. It is so quiet you can barely hear it operate. Purchasing the over the range unit freed up counter space. We have an exterior vent but I am sure that the interior venting works just fine as I have seen it on others. The light is brighter than our old vent hood making it easier to see what your cooking. The vent fan is strong and pulls vapors away from your pots and pans very well. The interior is double level and wide and long enough to hold larger dishes. The turntable on/off switch is a big plus from our old unit as we can now place a larger dish without removing the turntable to do so. The turntable is also recessed so that you are not setting the larger dish on top of the turntable. We have put the unit through its paces since we installed it and so far we are thouroghly satified with our purchase.

I bought this with a kit to expand it to an existing 36" opening. Instillation was simple and it looks great.
