Hard to see

I replaced my old GE Microwave with this one. Though the installation was straightforward, after the installation I had trouble seeing the printing control pad buttons. Old Microwave were in white against a black background. Now they are dim gray and difficult to see. Is there lighting behind the pad to make the printing easier to wee?

Stopped Working!

I bought my microwave in Jan. 2017. I live by myself and use the microwave very infrequently. It just stopped a few weeks ago. All the obvious items to check have been checked (e.g., fuses). Will not buy this model again.

Failed after 2 years

A decent basic microwave; it failed after 2 years. One of the safety devices, perhaps a thermal cutout, is intermittent, and it needs service. Vent fan is NOT quiet, FYI. Also has hot spots when cooking.

I bought this online from Home Depot. Product arrived, and I examined it externally, everything appeared fine. But a month later when the contractor was ready and went to install it, the tabs on the doors were broken, they had been broken at the factory. It could not be replaced because it was no longer consider "new", a week had passed since it arrived. GE did replace the door, and it seems to work fine, with an extra push the door shuts securely. In the future, open all wrapping, and inspect your delivery.

I purchased the GE 1.7 to replace my GE 1800, which was 11 years old. Very disappointed that I couldn't say 20 years old. Installed myself using old/already installed hanger. Installation went with ease. To aid with installation, I placed "milk box"about 18 inches cubed) on top of stove and microwave on top of milk box, then lifted in place. I'm 72 years old and needed the milk box. Just purchased, applied power to the microwave and checked several functions with no problem found. If I experience any problems in the years to come, I will give an update. One other thing, my house exhaust vent did not aline with the unit. Problem was house vent was off center. The unit vent is adjustible. Be sure to align the vent.

Died within 2 months

My previous GE Profile lasted 12 years. I replaced it with JVM6172SF1SS and this one died within 2 months. Did not expect this quality from GE.

Everything you could ever ask for in a microwave
