Have owned various Bose products through the years and never disappointed with there sound or quality, you get what you pay for. I have had the soundtouch 30 for a month now and I use it with a apple iMac with a apple airport time capsule for wifi, it was a ease to set up, the sound is excellent for the size of the soundtouch 30.

My 1st purchase of the SoundTouch was a year ago, once I received this speaker and realized I could have multiple speakers in various rooms, I put this to the ultimate test. I was hosting a party and didn't want to blast the one SoundTouch; therefore, I purchased three more, for three other rooms. The sound and the volume in each room was amazing, not loud, but the atmosphere appeared as though we were in a 5 Star setting. Regardless of which room we entered, we could here the music, the clarity of sound was phenomenal, and we could hear one another speaking. Because of this event and the sound affect of traveling from one room to the next, hearing the sound of music with these speakers, prompted me to purchase 3 more for a dear friend.
I've purchased a total of 3 SoundTouch 30, and 4 SoundTouch 20. I have no regrets for the investment I made purchasing seven of these SoundTouch Speakers. Thanks Bose, we really enjoy this product.

Good sound, lousy WiFi, terrible setup

After using it in my cafe as an AUX speaker (because the music would continuously stutter when on wifi, even if the access point was only a few feet away), I decided to bring the unit home. Obviously, I have to setup the speaker to connect to a new network. Using the same iPhone which I originally setup the speaker with, it could not locate the speaker.
So I decided to start from scratch and restore factory settings. Still couldn't find the unit. I tried using my laptop but it's requiring setup via USB or Ethernet. The supplied USB cable is not with me and it doesn't help that my laptop is the USB-C MacBook.
So back to my iPhone I went. I deleted and reinstalled the soundtouch app. I went through all the steps but it just won't allow me to click on "continue" despite having switched to the Bose network.
I whipped out an Ethernet cable and just connected straight to the router. That got it working finally. Now I can AirPlay now and play some Spotify.
I preset some Spotify stations but there's a lot of buffering. Best I can do is use Apple Music and AirPlay.
In the end, it's not at all a simple system. Requires a lot of patience and technical know-how. Cumbersome setup. Very weak Wi-Fi, lousy streaming. It's got great sound, and that is the only thing going for he SoundTouch because right now, it's only working as a Bose WIRED speaker.

Awesome System!

I am a long time Bose fan. Just upgraded to the sound-touch wi-fi system a few months ago. I have all 4 pieces, and absolutely love it. I use mostly Spotify for streaming, and I stream on all 3 levels in my house. Even used it outside, it worked perfectly. Just wish I could listen to my CDs in the changer through the system. One point, you need to make sure your internet service can handle the systems demand. I had lots of trouble in the beginning. The system kept buffering. Once I upgraded my internet service, I haven't had any problems. Excellent sound quality, and access to unlimited music. Couldn't be happier!
