Exudes Quality

My DSC-RX1 arrived a few weeks before the case did and as a result I wound up NOT using the camera right away because I did not feel comfortable going "out and about" with my RX1 'naked' and without proper protection. The leather case is pricey yes, but I have to say that it is created using top quality leather > One sniff and I reminded of the time when I worked for my Grandfather as a youth; He raised Arabian Horses and used some really fine & expensive leather Saddles back then...
The stitching on the case is really nice too and I like the super soft extra padding sewn inside. No flaws that I can see. Very protective. I think that the design is quite genious actually, especially in real world use where it is so easy to quickly unclip and remove the top cover for a quick photo while leaving a nice protective portion on the camera itself. I also find that portion of the case which is screwed into the tripod mount also makes the camera easier to hold and compose a shot. I am very pleased with this case and its overall design. I always liked my case for my DSC-R1 that I bought back in 2005 (and still going strong) but I missed many a shot since I could never get the R1 out of the case quickly enough... that won't be a problem with the LCJRXB/B~! No regrets...
What's great about it: Great fit and finish
What's not so great: Tripod Mount Screw prevents camera and case from sitting flat
I would recommend this to a friend!

$250.00 is way too much

I bought this with my Rx1R... this case is so overpriced it is just silly. Quality is fair, the case (bottom half case) MUST be removed to access the battery and/or SD card) .. .. not for $250.00 it shouldn't :)... there are too many 3rd party options to make this case worth the money....

RX1 essential accessory
on December 19, 2012

This case fits like a glove and protects the glass optics and electronics; it is an essential accessory to the RX1, particularly when carrying it from one shooting location to another. It rained while I was doing landscapes, but I had the fortunate timing of putting the case on just after I received the shipment. This leather case is not waterproof, but it did repel the light drizzle until I could bring it into the house and wipe it with a towel. The tripod screw on the bottom attaches the bottom of the case to the camera and there is sufficient padding on the bottom to accept minor jostles. There is room for the lens, 2 filters and lens cap. The canopy-style top has button snaps by which it can be removed completely and attached to the neck strap while you are shooting. The RX1 came with a nylon strap, so there is no leather strap with the case. It only takes a few seconds to remove the case, but it is worthwhile protection against bumps and scratches. To my complete surprise, I am carrying the RX1 around all the time, and given the price for this marvel, I want to keep it in good shape while I am toting it, but in style. I recommend this case to all who own an RX1.
