Great, but room for improvement

The Lumia 900 excels in its ease of use, amazing design, and durability. The design is absolutely gorgeous, being an owner of the cyan version. The polycarbonate design gives the phone a very solid, comfortable feel. The physical button placement is comfortable the dedicated camera button is a nice addition. The large AMOLED screen is vibrant making for great video viewing and standout direct sunlight performance. Although the screen is already beautiful, it would be assisted by a more modern HD resolution. The live tile interface of Windows Phone 7 makes for quick access to key information like weather, contacts, etc. It's much more convenient than having to open up an app to see basic information. All of the most used features are within easy reach. However, more customization would be welcome like in Windows Phone 8. The operating system emphasizes ease of use as well as convenience. The keyboard is nice and roomy, and all tiles and options are big and prominent minimizing mistakes. Apps like the people app are excellent for centralizing social networks like Facebook and Twitter. It's nice to see all updates in one unified feed. The most useful app is the Nokia Drive app. The voice navigation is incredibly accurate, and tells you the next action within plenty of time. It works seamlessly when running over Bluetooth in the car. The Nokia Drive service combined with local scout to find places works great. The camera is fantastic. The Carl Zeiss lens makes for great shots, even in low light. Video performance is solid, but only with a maximum resolution of 720p. However, this is fixed in a newer generation of the phone. In addition, low light performance is even better in the Lumia 920. With only a single core processor, the phone feels a bit sluggish at times. In addition, the battery life sometimes feels inadequate due to the high demands of LTE data speeds. However, these minor issues are to be fixed in the Lumia 920 with a dual core processor, as well as an improved battery. The phone paired with Windows Phone 8 have great potential, but simple the addition of simple features that have been overlooked would make a new generation of this phone near perfect.

This is the best phone I have ever owned... Including my old iPhone! The look is absolutely gorgeous which is what initially caught my eye...but there is so much more beyond that! It has great pin to start features! Have had no problems with it! there isn't a huge variety of apps though, when being compared to competitors. Still a great, beautiful, and very sturdy and durable phone!

I have had this phone for six months. The OS is extremely underpowered, Windows Phone has very few apps. Just today, I pulled out my phone to take a picture, and I accidentally dropped ot from my pocket, a two to three foot drop. It landed on some concrete, and now the screen is completely shattered. Overall, I would not say I have had a good experience with this phone.

Windows Tellme: Amazing technology: super recognition; very fast; very easy. Style: You have eyes--it is a beautiful device. Integration: It quickly and easily integrates with everything--especially so, Windows apps like Outlook and Exchange Server. The new picture software really makes the best use of the excellent Nokia camera. Well, done. Keep up the great work--Nokia, Windows.
Pros: Personal, Business, boat navigation

I have had so many phones (over a dozen) but this phone is the best I've ever had! It is so easy to use without having to use your brain to remember how to operate, everything is so logical in the operation. The apps available are excellent! Thank you Nokia for producing this product, please do not discontinue I will buy another one. Just improve on the battery life.

Aggravating, disappointing - multiple bugs, few apps

I have had the same problems mentioned by a couple of posters, namely (1) the phone randomly turns on the voice activation feature; and (2) the phone randomly turns on Bing. These things frequently happen when I'm trying to type in a text. When Bing comes on, the phone is "stuck" on that screen and won't allow you to navigate anywhere else for 30 seconds or longer. My first cell phone was a Nokia and it was great. This one is a disappointment. Also, this is my first smartphone (I'm old) and I didn't think I'd care about having fewer apps available, but I was wrong.

I'm taking a hammer to this phone

The phone I have currently is a replacement. The first stopped working within 2 weeks of the manufacturers warranty. It would recognize that it was plugged in but would not hold a charge. My replacement phone now won't recognize that it's plugged in at all a whole 3 months short of my next upgrade. The port is complete garbage. Add in the fact that no one can understand me when I speak and you can't get a decent application and this phone is a complete waste of money. In addition, it is costing me even more money to replace the paper weight for the next three months. I have never been more disappointed in a phone.
Pros: Personal, Business
