It has weird operating system

I played with this phone in the store and while OK, it has a really ugly interface with weird plasticky squares. It is not Android, it is not Symbian and it is not MeeGo either. It has a nice physical design and I would consider it, if it run a stock android.

The Lumia 900 is beautiful.

My Lumia 900 is a pretty good phone. Its design is amazing and the cyan color is gorgeous. The camera takes pretty average quality photos, I was a little disappointed, but the front 1.3MP camera actually looks better than my iPhone 4 did. The app selection is okay, I'm just missing my cars.com, zipcar, instagram, and tumblr apps. The apps being absent may become a reason to switch to a Galaxy S III or iPhone 5. The call quality is good, but the speakerphone is something the other people on the line complain about most. The maps on the phone, whether it's Nokia Maps or Bing Maps, isn't that great. Their's not any streetview-like experience and the UI is pretty awful. I love Nokia, I'm just wanting more from this phone.
Pros: Personal, college

Good but not great

The lumia 900 is a good phone for everyday use. But since its a windows phone the marketplace has not the apps you would see on a apple, android phone. There are some bugs like the phone hitting buttons for you which getting annoying but otherwise its a good phone with many great features.

I appreciate the input of others when i am in the market to purchase something, and hope this review will serve as the same to others. Quite simply- this is the best phone I have ever used. From its brilliant performance to the darn great Windows OS, it is something for everyone. Unique design features, simlicity of use, long battery life, excellent vacation pictures and videos, great feel-solid construction, seamless integration with Windows OS, and smooth Web surfing. this phone trumps any that I have used so far including the many iphones, blackberrys, and androids. in fact- from one who has even tried the new Nokia 920, this phone is more fluid with the Windows OS. I truly belive the Lumia 900 is future proof, and a solid investment in mobile phones, I am confident you will enjoy using it as much as I do. You can't go wrong.

Loving it

My wireless provider equipped me with some tutorials for the phone but as far as general use goes I figured it out within the day. The picture and sound is crystal clear. It's one of the bulkier phones that is out there but I love it.

A common problem with the phone is that the battery will run completely dead and the phone will not turn on even after a 2 days charge. Big time battery problem. Mine is out of warranty and not i have to spend lots of money to get the phone fixed. I will never buy another Nokia phone.. DO NOT BUT A NOKIA WINDOWS PHONE. PLEASE WILL SAVE YOU MONEY AND A HEAD ACHE.

Coming from a iPhone 4 I thought this phone would be great, but it has a major short coming. The camera is not great, Carl Zeiss should not put their name on this product. Taking a picture is so slow that you miss the shot more than 75% of the time, especially when shooting kids. Unless your subject stands perfectly still forget it, good luck with kids. Also the white balance is aweful. Video recording has great picture quality but 3 times now I've had real bad static popping when I play back recorded video. Definitely something wrong with video recording, static popping does not occur when playing audio. I do like the windows interface very slick and being able to link all your contacts together from LinkedIn, Facebook and my own address book is the bomb. I was able to find the apps i needed to replace ones i used on my iphone, so apps was not an issue for me. The LTE network is blazing fast, alas I don't think I will keep this phone. My iPhone 4 camera takes better pictures than this especially in regards to clarity. I've taken over 700 photos on my iPhone 4 of my kids and most turn out excellent. So it is with regret that I'm returning this camera for an iPhone 4s, if not for the camera I would keep this phone, just love the windows ui far superior to ios and android. If you rely on your phone as much as I do for capturing those instant unforgettable moments that happen on occasion with your kids than do not get this phone, Apple has Nokia and Microsoft beat hands down in the camera department.
