I have to say I am very dissappointed in it. If I dont' basically wash the dishes before loading they don't come clean. It does no better than my old dishwasher it replaced. I spent more money for what was suppose to be a better product on the market. If the door on my old dishwasher hadn't been leaking I would have taken the new one out and returned it and kept the old one. One of the selling points from the salesman was quiet operating.....I can hear it in my bedroom and can't sleep if I run it at night. Trying to figure out how to stack some of the dishes is a chore in itself unless it is plates or silverware.....hard to find a place for some items to fit.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: Does not clean well, Noisey
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had the dishwasher a little over 6 months. The heating element on my 9-year old KitchenAid dishwasher went out and I decided to get a new dishwasher. I shopped around a lot and considered several brands. I was quite discouraged because I couldn't find any dishwasher that had mostly good reviews. A service man at my local appliance company recommended this one over the Bosch because I like my dishes to get dry. I have been very pleased with the performance. The only thing I don't like is the silverware holder. The separators for the utensils won't stay in place. I finally just got rid of that holder and now I'm using the one from my old dishwasher and I'm much happier with it. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Convenient Features
Cons: silverware holder is not well designed

I really like my new Kitchen Aid dishwasher. It holds way more dishes than my Maytag did and is so much quieter. I like being able to put plastic containers in the top rack and have them come out clean without turning over and filling with water.
I like the easily adjustable top shelf and have used that feature already. I love the way the lights let me know what stage of the cycle it is in and when it is finished and the dishes are clean.
I am very happy I bought a Kitchen Aid and this particular model.
Pros: Performance, Convenient Features
Cons: the controls can be activated inadvertently

The only negatives I have for this dishwasher is that the options are very hard to read. They are printed in small letters in a barely visible color. I had to use a flashlight the first few times I used it This seems so easy to fix. Also, it is easy to start the cycle without intending to just by accidentally pressing against the front of the machine. It is quiet, although the cycle takes a long time.
Pros: Fairly Quiet, Performance
Cons: accidentally starting the machine, hard to read wash choices

Amazing Dishwasher, annoying silverware basket

I absolutely LOVE this dishwasher. It holds so much, it's quiet, and gets our dishes super clean. I find the silverware basket annoying. It keeps collapsing. I tried balancing the silverware separator thingy but it doesn't work so everything just gets dumped in the basket. My friend's whirlpool has a more durable basket (although overall her dishwasher is not as nice).. has anyone else have this issue? Any recommendations?
Pros: Performance, Design, easy to use
Cons: Silverware basket
