Ice Build-up Runs and Runs

I bought this several months ago and was giving it time to settle in, but that did not cure what ails it. Builds up ice at the area of the hinges and goes under the lid gasket and it is consistently turning on and off. Once the ice builds up the freezer heats up.

It freezes and does a good job but does not defrost. I should have bought the version that had defrost.
