Wonderful HR monitor

The absolute deciding point for me on this beauty was the heart rate monitor. It's super accurate and helps me push myself. I know when I'm going too hard and when to back down for a faster recovery.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had this for about 2 months.
I've been using a polar HRM for a number of years, but only when exercising (The chest strap isn't exactly comfortable for normal wear)
The sync works fine to an ipad air and allows me to look at the data online, from the phone, the ipad or my android phone. The android phone app doesn't work with my current phone (tried a Sony Z1s or Sony Z3. Neither is on the approved android phone list. That list only has 4-5 phones last time I checked.) for purposes of syncing data. (when I got it to pair, which took multiple tries.) It looked like it was working but lost data for that day. I also couldn't get it totil the lights sequence) so it's easy to switch between devices.ware updates since the last time I tried pairing to my Sony, but I haven't wanted to try as it lost data previously. The unpairing on the device is simple (put it in the charger and tap it until the lights sequence) so it's easy to switch between devices.
On the ipad it reads the heart rate real time. The heart rate while sleeping is also a very nice feature (had a fitbit device which tracked sleep quality by motion. I think this is a bit more useful. I would like the know the algorithm used to determine deep sleep, but that's the geek in me)
I like the band more than normal watch bands as it's a bit flexible, but it's a plus and a minus. If I don't want it to move at all, I would have to tighten it a bit more than is comfortable. I have fairly large wrists and the band expands fairly simply.
This may not be the designed use, but if your doing something that requires quick arm movement, it will probably slide down to your wrist (thus normally I put it above my watch) (i.e shadow boxing or in my case kung fu.) If you are walking or running, this should be a problem.
There seems to be a bug in the HRM itself as sometimes when I download the information, my max heart has show over 200. (256 once, 512 another time). It's only happened 2 times and it could have been from the band being in the wrong place (being too close to my hand)
It would be nice if I could replace the band with something I could put on my upper arm. Or possibily a larger mesh style that would have a bit more grip and wouldn't require it to be as tight if you didn't want it to move. I would also like it if the online (or phone) software allowed you to zoom in on a time of day. Or set the time you went to sleep and woke up. Another feature that would be nice would be the ability to integrate your food intake from other apps (like myfitnesspal for example.)
Overall, I like it and am happy with the purchase. It works well and gives me a lot more information that I had before. (And, sadly, tells me exactly how out of shape I am. Well, I suppose that was kind of the point. :-) )
Says 36 hours of battery life, and I haven't had a problem yet. I usually charge it a bit after I get up and it's fully charged in under 30 minutes when charging once a day and I flip on the ipad to download the data at that time.
Pros: No chest strap Picks up heart rate fairly quickly Not velco, so doesn't come off your wrist. Slightly elastic strap. Realtime display of heart rate Easy pairing process.
Cons: Elastic strap slides unless clamped down uncomfortably tight on the upper wrist. Should work with any android phone instead of a specific set. Not sure why you have to use the app to pair the device instead of the phone environment.
