I haven't had the camera long so I am just getting use to it. Love it so far. Two things I would like to see is anti-shake and longer battery life. When it is in auto mode it keeps focusing which uses a lot of battery. Takes great pictures. I would like to write another review once I have more time with it.
Started out with a point and shoot and spent years moving up the DSLR range. Recently sold all my equipment and instead of moving up, moved over to the NX2000. I take nature and wildlife photos and was nervous about not having a viewfinder but spent a day out in bright sunlight and had no problems. The action wildlife shots I take require me to have camera in hand with little room or time for a tripod. This camera is so light that even after several hours I was not tired of holding it. I do miss my larger (300+mm) lens. Hint Hint...but overall I am glad I made this move. Now, go take some pictures!
We shopped the SLR cameras first but a salesman informed us of the NX2000 and the more he talked the better it sounded. You can run the camera fully manual all the way to fully auto, which other cameras will also do. But what I have found is the real reason to get a Samsung are the preset exposure modes. After getting used to all the functions of this camera that is what I truly find is why I am so happy I got the NX2000. Select an exposure mode that fits what you are shooting and the shots you get are superb. I also have a Samsung Galaxy cell phone so I have the pictures automatically sent to the cell phone where the phone sends them off to my online site I have set up. My pictures are available online minutes after I shoot them. Oh there are more things to like, but I think the above reasons are my favorites. Get the 20-50 mm and 50-200 mm lens package and you will thank yourself. Then you will still want to pick up a wide angle later, and I need a telescope adapter soon too I think.
I got my camera refurbished. While it was defective when it arrived (it wouldn't stay turned on) the Samsung repair department quickly fixed it at no cost (minus the cost of shipping the camera to the repair location). Despite this extra step, the camera was still a great value considering the low refurbished price.
The camera's larger APS-C sensor performs very well, and the camera features surpass their competitor's.
