Had this stove a few years The oven door has rusted by the glass. The metal on top burner area is thin.The top came bent when it was new. It has been replaced.The new top defect in paint.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My disappointing GE range JGB750SEFSS

I bought this range about 6 weeks. The front door need to be replaced twice due to defaults. Two of the top burners stained immediately even though I clean the top every time it is used with as you suggested (half vinegar and oil). I have a new thermometer in the oven and it registers 25 degrees over the oven setting. I am burning or drying out our dinners. How is this resolved? Do I call the store where it was purchased or the gas company? Please respond as soon as possible .
Also, the convection oven has caused food to not be baked right. Cookies have been over baked.
I cannot accurately rate this product at this time due to the above.

Not the best

I was initially very happy with this stove, but after using it for several months I have found some huge flaws.
Pros
- Quick boil burner
- Ability to slide pots and pans across the burners

Cons
- General design
- Heat rolls off this stove to the point of it raising the temperature by 10 degrees in the kitchen, fine in the winter, but not so great in the summer when it is 110 outside
- The burners are high which does produce a great cooking surface, but the back of the stove was not raised to account for the high burners so it is uber easy to scratch the stainless steal on the control panel
- The high burners also allow an insane amount of heat to roll off the stove
- The oven allows so much heat to escape that the microwave above the stove can be used as a warming oven without it being on at all (a whole stick of butter will melt completely)
- The oven temperature is not consistent, after being on 30 minutes the temp difference is 25 degrees and after 30 minutes the temp difference continues to grow to about 50 degrees
- By no means is this a true convection oven, the fan rarely to never comes on
- The middle burner looks great, but it is effectively useless since it is too small to cook much on at any one time

The following are not design flaws, but factors that should be taken into consideration for those with children that are actually expected to learn to cook, people 5'2" and under, and those with arthritis/weak grip.
- The grates are ridiculously heavy and large and cannot be soaked in a normal, two sided deep sink; they are so large it is actually hard to handle them at all
- The stove is deep so it is hard for the back burners to be used by those whom are 5'2" and under

I am very disappointed with the design flaws as I will have the stove at least another 9.5 years. The one thing I do know is my next appliance will not be a GE.

GE could not even get it to work

Purchased the whole slate set. When I purchased the gas stove I specifically stated I wanted to be able to have this converted to propane. However, GE service could never get the propane to work and could offer no explanation or resolution. After months of arguing with vendor and GE, vendor gave me an electric stove which I am not happy with. I wanted gas and would never have purchased if I would have known that propane would not work. I am very disappointed because I was really looking forward to have the gas stove.
