This over replaced a 30 year gas range. What a difference in performance and looks. The convection feature is great.

some problems for those who are Sabbath observant

Very nice looking stove. I was nervous to try convection since I hadn't ever cooked with it before but my chicken and sweet potatoes came out the best they ever had! So far, very happy with my new stove.
One feature I don't like though is that the door open light can not be disabled. Even taking the bulb out, you still hear a clicking turning the light socket on. Also, you only have 15 seconds to close the oven door before a warning comes on the display telling you to shut the door. For sabbath observant people this presents a problem. The only way to remedy this is to set the sabbath mode every week. If you don't want to have the oven on all shabbat, you can also set a cook time function so the oven turns off after your meal. It will take some getting used to, but once I know which controls to set it will probably become routine. If you don;t want to go through this hassle every week, buying an older or lower tech. model without the automatic door open functions will probably be easier, such as the JGB630/

My first gas range

My electric range died on me right at the holiday's . I have been waiting for the chance to upgrade to gas and was glad I did. I am retired now and do all the cooking and gas makes it so much easier and this GE range does everything.

With the building of a new house comes the task of purchasing all new appliances. Our friends recommended GE products and boy are we glad they did! Switching back to natural gas from electric - oh yeah....so easy and so happy we did! This gas range is wonderful. Lights right away and cooks in little time. Love the steam cleaning feature. Makes cleaning the stove so quick and easy.

Love the Slate!

I really love the slate. I have not tried all of the features, yet but so far it has been very easy to clean and is a much warmer color than stainless steel.
The handles smudge and constantly need cleaned to look nice. That is my only complaint.
