We bought a new one after the old one's compressor died at about 15 years. This one was touted as a more recent version (i.e., better?) of the old one. Well, even at the coldest setting, ice cream in the freezer softens after you buy and store it. According to the delivery/installer man, said freezer is supposed to stay at around zero. Also the front and back edges of the shelves are so wide that we found we couldn't put as much in the main compartment as we could with the old one. The plastic meat and produce drawers stick in the guides - we really have to shake and jiggle them to get them seated, whereupon they might come right off the guides.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this refrigerator/freezer a month ago and have been pleased with the choice we made. It has all the features we need. The door has room for a gallon of milk and plenty of space for lots of other things. In fact, the entire refrigerator area is more than we expected and the freezer also has plenty of space.

Bought this fridge a month ago for additional refrigerator space (garage) and am very pleased. It is a basic fridge - good value - perfect for our needs.

This refrigerator far exceeds my expectations. I LOVE Whirlpool!! It is roomy, free icemaker included....great price. I am very pleased. Formerly, I had a side by side (other brand installed by builder) that seemed so confining and hard to find things in. I love the top/bottom style - much more practical. Thank you, Whirlpool, for another great product!

I purchased this specific refrigerator for a basement apartment that required a specific size. The refrigerator I purchased fits perfectly and has plenty of space for someone to store refrigerated/frozen items. I could not be happier.
