I bought this printer to take advantage of the monthly ink plan. I print a lot of photos when the photo has a lot of solid colors there are streaks in the image. Not always but often enough to be unusable. First print with new ink supply is great goes down hill after that. Its really bad when I print a 8 x 10 not as bad with 4 x 6. Set up was very easy just plugged it in ran the CD that's it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Compact design but poor performance

It quit working in the middle printing a file page. After approx. 1 1/2 hours on the phone with a
service tech it worked fine until the last page of a 24 page report and it quit mid page. It is very
slow communication with the computer I would wonder if it was going to print or not. Power button has to be press several times to power up or down. Holding 5 seconds doesn't always work.
Very unreliable machine. I am very disappointed in this purchase.

There are so many more features than my previous printer that it is going to take me awhile to try them all out. Much nicer than I'm used to. So glad I bought this model. I am now able to print from my phone, laptop, computer and iPad.

Great Printer Except For...

The printer is excellent except for a minor problem with the Control Panel. The hot spot for the setup is not in the rectangle for setup. It is below and to the right of the rectangle. Otherwise it is an excellent printer and scanner.

From the ease of ordering to the fast delivery, then quick setup in less than 10 mins, I'm completely happy with the Envy 5530! It works properly everytime without fail. I easily print from anywhere on my wifi network, including from my smartphone. HP eprint is an added bonus that allows remote printing from anywhere with an internet connection. Great size & print quality. Very happy.
