Great starter macro lens

Replaced a stolen lens with the same, great value, super photos
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Doeas not let you get close enough

I bought this yesterday, I simply love it. Using it, attached with the LA-EA1 adapter and NEX-7. Love love love it.
What's great about it: Image quality, price
What's not so great: slow AF

Very good addition to the DSLRA330L. Just about the right weight to make it easy to use.
What's great about it: Fits the DSLRA330L like a glove
What's not so great: Have not found any.

In the market for a good macro lense

I am looking for a good macro lens that I can also use as a prime lens. I read a lot of reviews on this particular lens, and they're mostly all great reviews. I know that with this lens you can get as close as about 4 inches to your subject, but what is the maximum focal length? How far away can I get from my subject and still get a crisp, clear photo? Thanks.
