Great addition to my not-so-smart TV

I was having no luck at all connecting to any on-line movie services (NetFlix, Amazon, etc.) on my "smart tv" even after spending hours on the phone with tech support, so I threw in the towel and bought a RoKu 2. The RoKu was easy to connect and activate, and I have no issues whatsoever now with connecting to any of the numerous movie and entertainment sites. In fact, RoKu has a lot more sites to choose from. I also like that the remote enables you to listen in through headphones instead of through the speakers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

get the roku 3 instead

I. Ought the roku 2, thinking the content was the same, but the hardware was different. Boy, was I wrong. Certain updates such as Netflix are only pushed out to the roku 3. The roku people said they would push netflix profiles to the roku 2, but then did an about face, and now they are saying the roku 2 will not get netflix profiles. Now I feel like I need to buy a new device to get that feature, which is lame.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have usd my Roku everyday, and stopped paying for TV. Tons of movies and kids programing. Works great on my older floor model television.

I absolutely love the Roku. I love being able to watch what I want when I want. I love the option of watching a series and not an episode. It's easy to catch up on to your favorite programs. Just wish more networks would join the Roku party.
