I wish I had done this much sooner. Super easy set-up. No buffering at all when I'm watching shows. Excellent picture. Seriously, it's like a just gave all that $$ to the cable company for nothing.

Works as Advertised

We have an old Roku in a bedroom, but purchased this one for the living area when we cancelled UVerse TV. We find that while Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus both work well, we have a problem with Netflix stopping and re-queueing. This is probably a problem with UVerse Internet (Max Plus, 18 Mbps) throttling Netflix, however, because the same problem occurs on the old Roku and on computers and iPads. My wife has gone back to using the Wii for watching Netflix because the Wii rarely re-queues for us. We still use the Roku 2 for other channels because it starts up more quickly and quietly than the Wii. Most of the "free" content on Roku is advertising-laden, so the number of channels is inconsequential for those who harbor a strong dislike of advertising. Overall a good, small product that delivers what it's supposed to.

Roku is IT!

We have been using Roku for several years now and have enjoyed every one. This is our 3rd model and they just keep getting better! After receiving our 1st Roku we cancelled or cable. Now this is our sole source for television content! Thank you Roku! You save us about $100 per month!

Great value for the punch! Purchased Roku 2 to cut cable... success. Saving $80 per month by eliminating cable. Roku is a great alternative to the cable giants! They may not have every show available on the Apps, but well worth discovering new favorites.

We were given this as a Christmas gift from some dear friends of ours, shortly after purchasing a new smart TV. Quite honestly, I wasn't sure how much use it would be, now that we had the streaming capabilities of the TV. However, after spending some time looking through the available channels and how versatile and easy to use the Roku is, it is now our go-to streaming device. It is super simple to set up, I plugged it in to the TV, connected to our WiFi and was browsing channels in just minutes. It performs well, the controls are very user friendly and intuitive and the channel selections are vast. From the big, most popular channels (Netflix, Pandora etc.) there are some great, more obscure channels for old movies, classic, hard to find television, British TV (Highly recommend Acorn TV), documentaries, classic cartoons, educational programs, the list goes on and on. And, the headphone jack in the Roku remote is nothing short of GENIUS!! Why has this not been done before! The Roku2 is simply an outstanding device. When we finally dump our old CRT TV in our bedroom, we will probably invest in another one, probably the Roku3 simply for the slightly better performance. If you are hesitant about the Roku, or comparing this with other streaming devices, do NOT overlook the Roku. You will not be sorry.

Great Roku box for the money!

Recently purchased a new unit as our old Roku was having issues and customer support did not want to assist us. The new unit is great, very fast and has lots of features the original Roku we had did not. The headphone/remote feature is really nice and works without issues. Very pleased with the purchase, but wish customer support was a little more helpful on legacy products, therefore 3 starts instead of 5.
