I received this as a gift. I asked for the Roku 3 but received the 2. At first I was disappointed, but I really do love it. Once first unaccessable channels to 2 were available, the only difference that mattered to me is the processor speed (I am not into games, etc). And to be honest, I'm not even sure how much of a difference it would be.
I LOVE it and it runs perfectly 99.99% of the time.My ONLY concern is that for certain channels, like Hulu+, I have had a few times when the system has overheated. I've looked up workarounds that can be installed manually such as adding fans, spacers, ventilation etc, but I've just placed mine during these times on an ice pack (with spacing to protect moisture) and worked it fine.

Good concept, poor execution

I bought the Roku when Xbox decided to stop offering it's streaming services to free live users. I loved the Xbox setup. So I was excited to get the roku, and loved the app. But the roku is not very responsive. Sometimes you push the button more than once because nothing happens and it results in frustrating double pushes. Sometimes it just fails. Sometimes it won't pick up the wifi that is 10 feet from it, even though the Xbox and my phone both do. The Netflix and crunchyroll apps have less functionality than the xbox did; for example in netflix, you can not sign on to one of several users on one account, which is actually annoying. Now when the Roku is working, it works great, but not that Xbox allows you to watch on there again, I generally use it more frequently.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just Right for Vacation Home

I have an older television set that I will eventually replace when it is no longer working. However, it is an old work horse, former top-of-the-line, pre-HDTV television that may last for years to come. The Roku 2 is perfect, actually modernizing the options on this TV! I could not be more pleased.

Relief! Tried to install with audio cables provided but did not have an imput slot that accepted my new Roku but once I hooked it up with an HDMI cable, I was off and running.Once you play with the remote it becomes clear.House of Cards is a gas and when I opened Pandora it had my stations on already. A whole new world awaits/
