Good design but with some flaws

This is my second Roku and is actually the Roku 2XS. This was a replacement for the XDS which was far from problem free. I think Roku has done a nice job on the design and UI, but like most software driven devices, it can be challenging at times. Fortunately Roku seems to realize this and has been updating the UI regularly, which is NOT what they did with the previous generations. I just wish the software designed for the 2 was optimized better for the processor much like it is for the Roku 3.

My one and only large issue is that the programming on some of the free channels is that the films are so old you can't watch them due to extreme blurriness and bad sound

Love this product

Two weeks ago I bought my Roku 2, and I've been really, really happy with it. Initially I was going to buy the streaming stick, but they didn't have it in stock, so I was able to get the Roku 2 for the price of the stick. I'm really happy that I ended up with this product instead. Pros: really easy set up, great physical remote (as opposed to chromecast), easy on-screen navigating, and great quality of streaming. Cons: occasionally I have to wait up to 30 seconds for an app to load (but this could be my slow internet), no youtube app. I give this five stars. I didn't even have my TV plugged in before I got the Roku- totally changed how I watch TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Returned my Roku after I discovered it dis not support closed caption when watching Netflix. I noticed the newer models don't note that feature being added.

If you use netflix do not buy this product

The company decided not to update the netflix on this product making it very aggravating to use and results in me not using it all until they decide to update it. Other than that the device is fine, but I have only used it for netflix and it is now unusable until they update it.

I love this thing. Easy to set up and use. Now I can stream movies instead of dealing with DVD's. Excellent picture quality.
