It is a lot better than the Vudu streaming device. That one overheated when we plugged it in for the first time and never did recover. If we could turn it (Roku) off between uses it probably wouldn't get so hot? I don't know why it freezes all the time, but we have even put it on a little pedestal for better air circulation and that dosen't help, but we are always hopeful it will.
I would recommend this to a friend!

transitioning into a life without cable and bought 2 roku's as an experiment. easy to install and so far haven't had any issues whatsoever so yes I'd recommend it

almost, but not quite perfect

I had a 1st gen roku player for years. The kid took it and I got a Roku2.
Im thrilled with it. It's easy to use, intuitive, generally speaking I'm very pleased and would buy it again.
There are 4 shortcut buttons on the remote and they are preprogrammed to 4 channels. Those buttons can not be changed. It would be great if I could change a couple of them: I can't stand the fact that there are buttons I dont need but if I could set them to other content, life would be much easier.
It's just kind of a stupid waste
